If they continue to lose this way it comes down to one thing

The O-Line is fine. Koppen can be upgraded but we really need to trade whatever we can to get Calvin Johnson.

The sacks were more due to receivers not getting open than the OLs blocking.
Did Hernandez show up today?

there were wrs open alot more than u think, brady struggles alot at times against pressure ds after getting blitzd or knocked down...i thought bill obrien belichick had a poor fourth qtr play callin on offensive side..ignorant...defensive was solid except for lbs, sanchez and jets just made sum great plays...

They were coverage sacks and they aren't continuing anything, so you don't have to worry about that.

The Oline.

They continue to come up small in the playoffs. Cost us a title in 07 and they're straight getting their ass whooped here. We need to replace Koppen, the man is done he simply cannot handle an elite DT. We can improve over Neal, im tired of light wasting everyones time on this roster. I'd die for a line I could trust.

Blame it on adjustments all you want, but all I'm seeing is Brady on the ground. Jesus could bless this team and they simply aren't gonna get 3 points playing this way. Yet again the line is killing us in the postseason. Just sayin.

Those centers you are looking for are extemely rare. Koppen does a great job against small to good sized DT's. He struggles with enormous ones like Ngata. I don't know if you've noticed? But Mangold who is considered by many to be the best Center was moved around quite a bit by our own Wilfork this season. That is just how it works. Koppen is doing fine in most games which makes him a very adequate center. Yes we need a replacement RT as Vollmer will be moving over to LT pretty soon. Also another big guard with Center experience would be helpful.

What we really need is a pass rush. I think everyone can agree this makes many phases of our game better with that one guy. I love multiple draft picks but I'm willing to trade the farm right now to get one. We have enough rookies.

while the OL was bad today, I still think that the Pats win if not for 1) benching Welker in the first series and 2) fake punt at the end of the first half. Both were ridiculous, flat-out awful decisions by Belichick.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you.

1) If the players were told not to get into it (which we know they were), then BB had the right to bench Welker for the 1st series. And I bet Welker immediately after the presser. We only found out about it prior to the game. However, we also don't know if that was the real reason. That was just the media speculation.

2) The Fake punt was great if it had worked. The fact that Chung dropped the ball because he was getting ready to go before he had the ball is what killed that play. Had Chung not dropped the ball, then he had a huge open lane to the right because Coleman's aggressiveness took him up and out of the play. It's no different than the direct snaps that the Pats have run.

Sorry, but neither was a flat out awful decision. You only say that because you are ignorant of the entire thought process.

Koppen has been sucking for most of the year. The only reason he looked like he'd gotten better was because of the return of Mankins.. Koppen clearly blew several assignments today and it cost the Patriots.

Brady held the ball way too long. He used to dump it off when the alarm went off in his head. Tonight he looked like Bledsoe, waiting for something that wasn't there.

Brady had all day to throw AND he was sacked 5 or so times.

That's a triumph for the defense.

Greetings,
Agreed. Watching the game today Brady had all time to make many throws that ended up being nothing. The Jets played a lot better especially when it came to coverage in the game.
Peace,

I've been banging the interior O-Line drum all season long. Koppen can easily be upgraded as can our situation at RG (where Connolly absolutely sucked a fat one today). At RG, I'd love to see them take a look at Pouncey in the later rounds. I think he has the ideal build and temperament that we look for at the RG position. I must admit, though, that I'm not nearly as familiar with the centers in the draft.

O-Line was pretty bad but tonight's loss comes down to Brady not stepping up.

The OL provided Brady 8 seconds to pass. Brasdy had all day. No one could get open.

They played better in the second half, but the O-Line wasn't providing Brady "8 seconds to pass" throughout the entire game. Aside from Mankins and maybe Light, the O-Line was horrible in the first half.

Pouncey may be selected as high as late in the first round.

The Oline was bad sure. But the coaches deserve equal blame for not preparing the Pats to beat the opponent and also for making some poor play choices. BB's call for the fake punt on the Pats own side of the field was unwise, impatient and likely cost us the game.

It's no secret that Koppen gets dominated by a stud DL. What Ryan did in this game was use stunts and such to crash the middle where Koppen was. He can't handle that kind of push. We have to upgrade that position because Rex keeps exploiting it.

He'd definitely be worth the pick. As a Gators fan, IMO, he fell only because he was playing center this year. I think a lot of people forget just how good of a guard he is. After his pro day and whatnot, if he becomes a first round talent, I think he'd be worth one of our picks.
