I'd just like to say a few things. It has been a hell of a season. If you look back at the prediction thread for regular season W/L records many people would not have had the Patriot in the playoffs at all. We were far from the favorites going in to the season and it is only a recent change in perception that had many believing that a Superbowl visit was a foregone conclusion.

It may seem to some that we 'should have won' this game and maybe that is true. But I'm still thankful for how well our team has played all year long and I look forward to another great season next year.

Thank you, Patriots, for fighting for victory with so much passion and intensity this season. It was a pleasure to watch you play.

Great post. Exactly what I was thinking.

This should be stickied until next year.

Maybe this, maybe that. . . .

Maybe if Ghost doesn't go down with a leg injury against Cleveland?
Maybe if Myron Pryor had been able to play?
Maybe if BOB utilized GRONK more in the passing game?
etc. etc. etc.

As BB says, even when everything's going right, it's not easy to win a Super Bowl.

Nice post Haley, it was an awesome season and earning a 1st seed is not too shabby for a 'rebuilding year'. Tonight was just a really sucky way to end it.

If it didn't happen in the dead of winter with two feet of ugly black snow on the ground and the Sox like 9 weeks away from starting it wouldn't be so bad; but this time of year we all really need a boost that's not gonna come:(

I do definitely agree with this post. It has been an exciting season and better than most of us expected. We saw a young team gel before our eyes. However, it doesnt make up for the fact that todays game just plain sucked. The "passion and intensity" you spoke about was completely lacking today. Brady certainly didnt have it. He looked lost out there for some reason.

There is 100 of each.

at least the celtics are getting healthy. A 4-0 finals sweep of the lakers would help the loss.

Maybe, maybe. Or maybe they got outplayed and frustrated. We can pick things apart for days and days. But I'd rather not dwell on the 1 loss so much as to downplay the many other accomplishments of the season. This is one negative among many positives.

lol@TheGodInAGreyHoodie: at least I got in first! :)

I would rather they not make the playoffs then lose to the Jets - sorry

I wish I could share your positive spirit. All I am saying is that what happens in the regular season doesnt matter - it only serves to prepare for the playoffs, which ended in extremely disappointing fashion. No one will remember this season for how good they were in the regular season, but for how it ended. While that may suck, its the reality. I am usually a positive person but thats just how I see it.

Unless you win the Superbowl, I don't think you can end a season without disappointment. However, if we don't make it further next year, you might see my positive attitude evaporate pretty fast. :)

I figured the board needed some humor and the title seemed like a cool set up.

Yes, sir, we very much do! You always rock at that. Helps to keep things in perspective.

As they say, "Here here." Yes I feel they should have won today but still. It was a fun season to watch. Not so much the two loses but overall.
