Showed a tape of the Pats setting up a player "wall" on the sideline and one player "apparently" trying to trip a Jet running along the sideline. Said "the league office should see this" on CBS.

What an ass.

Breaking Story... Glazer claims tape shows Pats tripping ala Jets

On the Fox Pre-game show, Jay Glazer showed a tape from the Pats/Jets 1st game in which the Pats supposedly had a wall set up and tried to trip a Jets gunner. Glazer ALSO claimed that the Jets found this when a Former Pats PS player who is now with the Jets went to the Jets and told them that the Pats would do the same thing.

The video, however, was not as conclusive as Glazer makes it out to be.

1) It's an over-head shot.
2) The players lined up along the sidelines were all in uniform, unlike the Jets players who were out of uniform PS players.
3) You see one player move, but you can't what he is doing. Glazer makes the claim that the player stuck his foot out.

Also, there is only one PS player from the Pats who is now on the Jets and that is Shawn Crable.

Yes, he is an ass.. But it was on Fox, not CBS..

re: Jay Glazier Tape (merged)

First off, the video proved nothing. The Lineman turned his back, didn't put his foot out.

The wall appeared to be the Offensive Line ready to come onto the field.

And he also said that a Practice Squad player who went to the Jets informed them of this.

Therefore,

I officially hate Shawn Crable.

re: Jay Glazier Tape (merged)

they were waiting for this sunday to show it.

BS story before a big game, sounds familiar.

Re: Breaking Story... Glazer claims tape shows Pats tripping ala Jets

Why are you even giving this clown air time?
He's just trying to make a distraction.
The way that idiot Tomase broke the completely false story of the Pats taping the Rams SB walkthrough on the eve of Superbowl 2007.

re: Jay Glazier Tape (merged)

What the problem with the Jets' wall was that the Jets had players in street clothes lined up. Players who are about to go in have every right to stand on the sidelines.

re: Jay Glazier Tape (merged)

Just gamesmanship.

re: Jay Glazier Tape (merged)

Worst exposé ever. That's what he came up with?

re: Jay Glazier Tape (merged)

So the league should just issue a league wide memo saying not to have players ready to go into the game on the sidelines?

OO wait - we're the pats.
This means this is/was our key strategy for winning all our superbowls.
Fine us $500,000 and take away two first round picks.

Re: Jay Glazier Tape (merged)

It's irrelevant anyway, the penalty has already been established as a fine. Had Jolly Roger taken a draft pick away from his beloved Jesters then I'd be worried we would lose one too. But the precedent is in.

Except the Pats didn't do the same thing. The only player the Pats have had in street clothes be on the sideline in forever is Kevin Faulk and with a torn ACL, he isn't going to do a wall.

Didn't see the video, but unless it is clear that he moved to try to trip him like Alosi did, it is a nonstory.

Re: Jay Glazier Tape (merged)

Just gamesmanship.

Who are the Jets gunners today?

I hope Dan Connolly rumbles 71 yards with one of them in his arms.

Re: Jay Glazier Tape (merged)

Right before the game? Please don't give me that crap. FOX hates the Patriots. They were clearly waiting for the most inopportune moment to show this bullsh!t.

Re: Breaking Story... Glazer claims tape shows Pats tripping ala Jets

Yea I saw that, how bad is that? The Jets say and do things, but everone has to go back to the patriots and squawk about, "Well they did it to, waa, waa, waa. The other thing that pisses me off is how the media says that the trash talk is going back and forth, maybe it's me but I haven't heard the Patriots say a damn thing, but the Jets are threatening harm, and acting like gangsters, f them and the stupid media. I just heard Terry Bradshaw say that he would have never played for a coach like Ryan, pretty much stated he was on the low end of the class meter.
Can 4:30 get here any quicker? Please?

why does the media wait till today for this ? it took him 4 weeks to come up with the story or was just be saved for the patriots playoff game ?

and the "wall" wasn't even the real issue. maybe it's somehow against the rules, but I found it annoying that people kept talking about it.

The real issue was that somebody on the sidelines tripped a player from the opposing team. Everything else pales in comparison.

Re: Jay Glazier Tape (merged)

Does this really surprise anyone ... most of the allegations and so called 'cheating' tactics that come to light prove to be more widespread than the single incident that brought the infraction to light.

That is all i will say .. i do not want to getting warned for some sort of 'infraction' here =)

Exactly. This is what I saw too on the Fox segment. The image was much too nebulous to definitively see what the player was doing.
