Hey man is that freedom rock?

Love that post man. Unfortunately I'm part of that 5% that was born. I was hoping somebody would have invented a drug to keep us all young by now!

If we lose today to the Jets I think you and I and all of us 'over the hill gang' in here will be one gigantic step ahead to the grave with all the stress and HBP we will have LOL

I didn't include Woodstock because I thought they held that in Bethel in early 1970 but it was August 1969...you are correct

Don't think so. When you've sat in the ice box that was Foxboro shouting on a 1-11 team and just hoping they can record a win more than the previous season which was 2-14, well you kind of have an appreciation for how great it is to be a Patriots fan these days.

It would hurt should they lose but at least we all know we will be in contention again next season and probably every season as long as BB and TFB are here.

True, but I wish it would be KC or some other team other that Fatso and his thugs grimacing if they win...the reaction to the Jets happiness and Jets fans repeated teasing for at least a year would be a lot to overcome.

We MUST win today and end this trash talking crap .....

I was 14 in 69 and couldn't get to Woodstock. One of the "big kids" did though and came back with a zip lock bag of Orange Sunshine. The town was paralyzed for a week with uproarious bouts of uncontrollable laughter and completely occupied with things like ants, toadstools and traffic lights.

1969 .... I sprouted a few pubes.

Help! Grooviness overload! :D I want to see the Jets goin' up the Loserville country soooo badly! :D

So PFIP is a contemporary of mine...

I was a week old the day they officially opened the old Shaefer Stadium.

I got married for the first time in 1969...

Too much booze, too many late nights..

5%er here...I was two then.

Pulled from some website

Cost of Living 1969

How Much things cost in 1969
Yearly Inflation Rate USA 5.46 %
Yearly Inflation Rate UK 5.6%
Year End Close Dow Jones Industrial Average 800
Average Cost of new house $15,550.00
Average Income per year $8,550.00
Average Monthly Rent $135.00
Average Cost New Car $3,270.00
Toyota Corona $1,950.00
Gas per Gallon 35 cents
Alarm Clock from Westclox $9.98

Also, Chappaquiddick happened in 1969.

The hippie love generation had come and gone by 69, with Altamont. Try 1967 for "Summer of Love". Pretty sure i never bought no Led Zep album called eponymous (yes, i know what it means). If it had a name, it was 1. Actually saw them for free on that tour cause my friend's fathers buddy let us in the gahden through the blades and boards club.

lol at Frezo and the town full of toadstools.

And don't be hating on Joe Namath, he was actually about the coolest thing going then. Lots of Yankee hating and we thought we were rivals with Miami (they didn't realize it) hence the snowplow, but there was never a real rivalry with the Jets, we were never good at the same time.

Namath actually had a nightclub on Comm Ave. called Bachelors III we used to frequent. Imagine a Nightclub in Boston owned and named after a NY QB and two other guys (who knows ?).

Of course, speaking of toadstools, Namath's victory brought us the brief, but hilarious reign of Clive Rush, Namath's offensive coordinator. Easily the most ridiculous low point of Patriots football.

I played my first real 6-string that summer. Those were the best days of my life.
