Wes Welker would be proud of the sly comment here. :D

The Patriots offense wasn't just great when you look at the total performance according to DVOA. This offense was great in pretty much every way. The Patriots were second in rushing DVOA, but otherwise had the best offense in nearly every statistical split. They had the best offense when losing and the best offense when winning. They had the best offense in the red zone, and in any other 20-yard split on the field except when backed up behind their own 20. They had the best offense at home, and the best offense on the road. They had the best offense from shotgun, and the best offense with the quarterback under center. They had the best offense before halftime, and the best offense after halftime. They had the best offense in a boat, and the best offense with a goat. They had the best offense on second down and third down, although they were -- gasp! -- second behind the Giants on first down.

Please tell me a NYJ fan didn't write this. I find it very coincidental that the wording is from "Green Eggs and Ham" and the goat reference to TB's photo shoot with a goat.

Maybe with the WW, Mangold stuff, my radar is up on this nonsense. :D

As PatJew pointed out, a goat being held by the, ahem, GOAT. :)

I already did a mini analysis on how the Pats 2010 offense was poised to join the great offenses of all time a few weeks ago. Glad the idea caught on. I'm not sure I am convinced by this DVOA stat yet but however they compiled it, it appears to jive with what we've seen this year. This Patriots offense has been dominant, particularly in the second half of the season. The balance and versatility of the offense I think is key to what makes it so hard to stop. The increased utilization of the tight ends in particular is the main difference between this year's Pats offense and the 2007 offense.

thats very nice and all, but lets do it 3 more games then gloat about stats

Bold statement near the end of the article, suggesting that these Patriots are among the 2-3 greatest teams of the decade. I'm not ready myself to talk that big.

I have also internalized the BB creed.
Throw in superstition, and it is
"I am just thinking about Jesters right now"

But, win or lose, this is a dangerous bunch.
Nobody has figured them out, major dif. from the '07 heartbreaker.

Which reminds me, why does Tomase still have a job in Boston?
He should be covering something in Omaha, or somewhere. Else.

One of my favorite pics:
Newly crowned World Champion Patriot,
Brooklyn born Joe Andruzzi, and his two brothers.
One watched WTC tumble, from the 80th of the other.
FDNY, a family tradition.
That, and balls to the wall.

New Yorkers, it is not Personal.

But there are Exceptions, to every rule.
