The playoff scenario couldn't have worked out better for us.
1) If Cromartie doesnt return that kick return for as many yards or Edwards drops that very overthrown pass by Sanchez, we'd be looking at the Ravens. A team that matches up well with us and is very amped over that blowout of the Chiefs. Ravens' thrive on each other's emotions and plays hard every game, I think we're lucky that they go to the Steelers and rip each other other apart before they even get the chance to play the Pats.
2) Brings me to my next point. Whoever we play, Steelers or Ravens, they will be battered and tired after an emotional and very physical game. These 2 teams hate each other and will play hard against each other. This will set us up greatly to match the winner of that game. They have to come to Gillette Stadium after a game with that kind of magnitude, I think that works to our advantage. (Maybe T-sizzle gets his helmet knocked off again)
3) We get to play the Jets, at home. A team we just dismantled easily and already have a good familiarity with as far as in game tendencies and strengths. (or weaknesses) Who else would we rather play? Also with them playing that game with Colts in the wildcard round, they arent as rested and healthy. We've already heard things about some injuries lurking around there.
4) We've had a bye week. Nobody in the NFL is better than BB and the Pats when given an extra week to game plan. This is a terrific advantage against a team that as aforementioned, we are already familiar with. This really gives us the jump in this match. I have a feeling the Pats will pull out the works for this match. Change it up a bit so they don't get accustomed to the last beating.
I'm sure there are more reasons and scenarios but these are the most obvious ones to me. Thoughts?
