I've never seen a colts game where so many calls were let go! if you watch the game video there were clear pi calls not whistled and manning was clearly thrown to the ground late on the final drive. Usually the Colts receive 2-3 gift calls, yet saturday they couldn't buy a legit call.

Austin Powers: Carnies. Circus folk. Nomads, you know. Smell like cabbage. Small hands.

Personally, I thought the referees did an excellent job of calling that game. IMO, that's the way a playoff game SHOULD be called.

Want to not worry about Refs calls not made?

let's run the ball with Woody and BJGE right down their throat!!!

Gooddell's Jets > Competition Committee Colts

I did not see a single call that wasn't made that should have been made. I saw a lot of whiny Colts begging for calls after the fact, but absolutely none of them were deserved and very surprisingly, none were called. Hopefully such solid officiating occurs again this weekend.

I thought so too, they erred on the side of no call, and that was good.

I agree. I was expecting the obligatory PI call in favor of the Colts and it never came. There were a two or three occasions where it was close and if it had been called it would have been ticky tacky. By not calling them the refs let the game be played as it should with only clear PIs being called. The Colts seem to have been the most favored with these calls in the past, so it was nice to see the playing field level for once.

I must have missed Manning being thrown to the ground, not that I want to watch the game again, but it just didn't stand out at the time. Maybe I was watching some other part of the play so the OP could be right on that one.

The Ravens/Chiefs game was a backyard brawl. Players pulling helmets off, punches...all in front of the refs but no flags. Finally, the refs warned each coach. Going into Pitt, I'm betting that the Ravens believe that they can take liberties after the whistle assuming the same no calls. This game could get very ugly.

Funny, you read the Jets boards and they complain about all the calls against them or non-calls against the other team. Doesn't matter the week. There as already a thread on Jetsinsider.com this week complaining about all the calls the Pats are GOING TO get away with this upcoming Sunday.

I want the refs to let the players play. The fewer calls the better.

Well, Revis and Cromartie hold like there is no tomorrow, whereas our CBs are not allowed to breathe on the opposition.

Almost every single cotton-picking play.

There was one, on the 5-yard line in one of the last drives. It was as clear as pass interference gets - the defender hit the receiver before the ball got there, making it impossible to catch. That actually would have been a difference-maker, too.

But, overall, it wasn't a poorly officiated game at all, and I agree with the general sentiment that I'd rather see the refs let 'em play than take over the game, as some crews do (looking your way, Ron Winter)...

Gene Steratore's crew was doing the Indy/Jets game. I think he actually calls a great game. I believe he did the Pats/Colts game earlier this year and we didn't have any phantom PI calls where Collie wasn't touched or for "face guarding".

If you end up with a strict ref like Ed "Let's call roughing off of the replay board" Hoculi or Winter be careful what you ask for.

Bill Leavy is the crew for this week's game. Leavy's crew is right in the middle as far as penalty yards and number of penalties called.

Another side note, the Steelers\Ravens game has the strictest crew with Jeff Triplette doing the game. Zero chance that's a coincidence.

Like most of you I watched all four games. I did not see one call for helmet to helmet although replays showed many. Very few if any pass interference or defensive holding, once again replays showed some. May have been a roughing the passer but I don't remember any. The only calls being made were the obvious offsides or illegal motion. This cannot be coincidence the league had to tell the officials to let the boys play. I expect the same for this weekends games, look for the jets to do a lot of holding, hope the pats follow suit.

Rob how do you keep posting over there without getting banned? I only posted for a week and was very polite and got banned?:bricks:

You got any connections? Get me back in:singing:

I just hope Goodell isn't in the building. And I am certainly glad Hochuli isn't reffing.

You need to change your Sig. Manning has only gone 14-3 once in his career. And he ended up losing the Superbowl that year.
