Great Blue North Draft Report

Aaron Williams CB 6-0 195 Texas Jr
Jurrell Casey DT 6-0 305 USC Jr
Tyron Smith OT 6-5 285 USC Jr
Jordan Todman RB 5-9 195 UConn Jr
Shane Vereen RB 5-10 205 Cal Jr
Torrey Smith WR 6-1 205 Maryland Jr
DeAndre Brown WR 6-5 240 Southern Miss Jr
Tori Gurley WR 6-5 230 South Carolina RS

Depending on where he's available DeAndre Brown could be a nasty value pick. 1100 yards and 12 TDs his freshman year then had a horrible broken leg Southern Miss never gave him enough time to fully recover from. If he ever got completely healthy he's got freak physical skills.

3 more

Blaine Gabbert QB 6-5 240 Missouri Jr
Akeem Ayers LB 6-4 255 UCLA Jr
Tandon Doss Wr 6-2 195 Indiana Jr

Blaine Gabbert QB 6-5 240 Missouri Jr

Gabbert declaring is huge for a couple of reasons:

- He was hardly a sure thing to declare, but he will go before the Raiders pick and slide a player down to 17 that wouldn't otherwise be there.
- I doubt Aldon Smith goes back to school now since Missouri will likely take a step back next year. Increases the pool of players at a position of need.
- There seems to be momentum for the top juniors to declare. If they all do, the Pats chances for a killer draft class increases significantly. Seems obvious but even losing a couple of these juniors could change the whole dynamic of the top 33.

Akeem Ayers is good in coverage but my problem with him is his pass rushing moves.Could be available at 17.Brandon Harris also declared for miami.

Brandon Harris has declared. While he likely won't go before #17, he may go before #33 or even be in the discussion for the Pats with 1B/2A.

Edit: Sorry, missed the Harris news in the prior post.

Good to see my boy Da'Quan Bowers has declared. Although if he doesnt go to Cincy at 4 he could fall a bit based on the teams in the top 10. Definately an interesting guy to watch on draft day.

Ryan Broyles will return for his senior season. That baffles me.He said to get himself ready for the nfl.:rolleyes:The guy had 1622 yards. He still was projected to be a second to third round pick.He will also be 24 when he enters the draft.

Tons of updates today - lots of new people declaring and some (Luck, Broyles) staying.

Some big names declaring:

Da'Quan Bowers
JJ Watt
Brandon Harris
Marcell Dareus
AJ Green
Marc Ingram
Justin Houston
Ryan Mallett
Janoris Jenkins

A few weeks ago I didn't think that DE would be that a big need for the Pats going into the draft but now Brace, Wright, Deaderick and Ty Warren are all pretty big question marks. I'm starting to think that Dareus at #17 would look real good on the Pats and if not him than Watt.

Luck staying pretty much cancels out Gabbert declaring.
Broyles doesn't stand to lose as much money as Luck.
In fact he might even improve his draft status.
But when you're projected #1 like Luck, there's nowhere to go but down from there.

Pitt RB Dion Lewis will declare, and has received a 3rd round grade from the advisory committee. I just heard this, this morning on the Pittsburgh sports radio station. Could be decent value in the 3rd.

Aldon Smith declared as well.I am waiting to see if Jared Crick will declare.I actually want Cameron Heyward now at 17.
