Clear as day I can still remember a short slant over the middle to Hernandez in the 4th quarter where after the catch he was picking up some yards and trying to fight off a tackle by two jets players. Revis was right there and did nothing. He gave up, didn't try to help with the tackle. I see the Pats attacking him Sunday.

This will be Revis on Sunday...

I don't see the Pats directly attacking Revis on Sunday. That would be a stupid thing to do because as much as we hate the Jets and their players, Revis really is that good.

Revis does not cover smaller receivers operating in the middle of the field as well as he covers bigger and more typical wide receivers who run their routes outside the numbers. We should definitely attack him with quick slants, bubble screens, etc.

Nah, the Pats will attack Cromartie with slants and make him tackle. And they will attack Smith/Pool/Lowery over the middle. And they will target Drew Coleman/Marquis Cole in the slot.

No reason to go after Revis and risk a negative play when you have that many options available (in this Jets fan's opinion).

That is what every other team has done this year since Revis got healthy, including the Pats last time out, and there is no reason the Pats would or should change that approach

Agreed. Pat's game plan is always to take the path of least resistance.

Revis is great. Accomplish the same goal by going to better, more favorable match ups.

I think the pats like to throw away from Revis to bore him and defeat him mentally. Probably why he gives up.

It's interesting he is still called Revis Island while last game against the Colts NBC kept putting up stats about how much help he was getting covering Wayne

what was the score when you say revis gave up? if it was 20 something to 3 lol well.. what do you expect.

but i understand. revis did indeed call other players quitters, so yeah dumb mve on his part.

i see no way brady forces passes at revis to make a point. that is just stupid, and im sure as patriots fans you guys know you arent stupid.

he did have help *if needed, but that was the entire plan by rex. try to get the colts to run the ball. i know you guys hate the jets, but everybody knows rex as an arrogant, loudmoud, stick to my guns(ill play my game plan **** adjusting) type of coach.

for him to play that style of defense on saturday SHOCKED me as a jets fan.

i see brady mainly making cromartie look like a moron with slants. cromartie cannot cover ANYBODY if the QB has more than 4 seconds to throw the ball.

I'd say guys like Welker and Branch have a much better chance at success against Revis than Moss everyday. Revis does a great job jamming at the line, defending outside the numbers, and go routes. Not that Revis is a bum inside the numbers, but matching him up on guys like Welker takes away a lot of his skill set.

Match ups without Moss doesn't favor Revis, It's not his forte. Revis locks in on a Deep threat receiver one on one typr coverage. Even though Revis was on Welker last time I believe Welker had like 80 yds & a TD. Revis can't be everywhere. With Brady spreading out "O" to like 8 different receivers it won't factor in Revis except to stop long YAC's.

I'd like to see gronk out wide lined up across Revis.

See how revis deals with a 7" difference of height and athleticism so it's not like Revis can just out-athlete Gronk that easily. For things like jump balls, and box out type patterns. Plus force revis to have to tackle Gronk.

In addition, it would be nice to beat him up on run plays by having Gronk smash into him on a regular basis. Maybe get Gronk and Crump lined up as WR and crack block on him. See how healthy that hammy is.

that is where revis is amazing. he dominates tall wide outs, but has trouble with little speedy guys(welker).

jets cannot use there best player on defensive to his full ability in this game.

this is why the jets are going to have to play at 110% and the patriots will have to **** something up for the jets to win.

IDK-I think the Pats might want to do that to Cromartie instead because of his big mouth.:p
