So I'm watching the Oregon vs Auburn game. Casey Matthews is a beast! I think he would be a great pickup for the pats in the 3rd or 4th round. What do u guys think?

I think he's going to get overdrafted by a team that thinks they're getting Clay.

Well, if he shares his brother's supplier he'll be good in the pros.

Yea ive never heard of him before today! He looks good but he could jus be having 1 good game. Where would you guys draft him if you could?

Is he even entering the draft?

Can he rush the passer?

...seriously :D

He looks really small right now, definitely needs to add some weight. But like someone else said, I think a team might reach a bit on him due to legacy. Looks like a decent player though.

well he doesn't play nearly as good as clay, but if he is around in the 2nd round they should seriously consider picking him up.

Yea his arms look alot smallers than clays but in the nfl will turn him into a monster!

He's like a 6th round prospect for the Pats, imo. He's both smaller and slower than Mayo, Guyton, and Fletcher, and he's 20 pounds too light to play Spikes' role. That basically means he's stuck on special teams.

Nothing really matters until the combine, pro days and similar events, when honest size evaluations and the like can be made.

youre thinking of brian cushing. nobody's linked clay matthews to roids to my knowledge.

casey matthews looked pretty good tonight. weve got the ammo to get better than him at OLB if bill decides thats a priority, though.

Yeah, I'm thinking of Brian Cushing, his friend at USC with a similar body type that gained comparable amount of muscle mass in a short period of time. Clay Matthews is on steroids, he just hasn't been suspended yet.

He's an OLB too I assume?

Casey Matthews is an ILB which we have plenty of right now. He's ranked about 8-10 as far as ILB in a very weak ILB class. 5th-6th rounder.

At 6'2"/235, if he shows decent speed and agility at the Combine/ProDay, I could see him going as high as he 2nd or 3rd to a 4-3 team like Indy or Detroit. If he can pack on another 10-15 lbs of muscle between now and then (whether through the miracle of modern chemistry or not), I could see a team with a relatively new 3-4 taking a shot at him for ILB or even OLB. Maybe.

I really don't see where he'd fit on the Pats, though, except in a Tracy White role.
