Woke up from a stomach bug I had all day. Pukining every half hour, head ringing...In bead all day. Ate toast and applesauce, left my body hours ago.

And the Pats waived Ellison accorting to the Rapsheet

That mean there is still an open spot even when Spikes is reinstated?

Nope... The 53 is set. Murrell made it.

Yep.

Transactions this week: Out: Ellison, Deaderick, Wright, Brace In: Ellison, Deaderick, Spikes, Murrell

Off the top of my head, is that correct?

Correct, I forgot about Deaderick!

Probably was garbage, or wasn't smart/motivated enough to learn his stuff.

Maybe not good enough. Not really fair to criticize the guy for not being smart/motivated enough to learn the defense in a few days though, as he had to either beat out a DL who had been on the team for a few weeks already or Murrell, who went through the entire TC with the team before being cut.

Read some stories about the guy yesterday, was one of those feel good stories that you hope would work out for both side.

More likely a combo of lack of talent and the fact that Murrell can also help on special teams. Murrell was a real solid special teamer for the Jets. My hope is that this is a good sign for the health of Pryor and the "well being," mentally speaking of Deaderick.

DL:

Wilfork
Warren
Love
Pryor
Cohen

Murrell still around may be related to Cunningham and Moore being out last week.

Pity for him that he didn't get a game check out of it, but as the stories say, he wasn't earning money back home either.

I imagine just getting hired for a week will help him with his chances of getting another NFL job, even after he was cut so fast.

Almost unheard of to have a player (in any sport) to be showcased, in a positive way, on the front page of the Globe (today) and headlining pg. 1 of Sports Page, and then be cut that day.

Too bad.
Very nice story about the guy.
As noted, he came up and worked for free, since it was a bye week. Missed his wife's birthday, and then got cut.
Rough.

Oh well, he knows the drill, been around. Probably more to do with Deaderick's return than anything. Gives them 6 DL that know the ropes.
