No surprise there. Probably the best move.

Not surprised but i am really worried about this DL now being very thin. Not good!:(

That sucks :(

Wonder who they will sign! Murrell surely won't be permanent!

Understandable. I hope he recovers. What could the Colts have possible done to the lad? Crack his skull?

Thanks for the season and best wishes for good health

You will be surprise that Murrell will be around. He looked like a force out there.

The DL has been ravished with injuries. They need to add some depth come the draft. You lose Brace and now Wright.

I can't help but think that there is a good chance that it has to do with a neck or spine issue more than a concussion.

I know the numbers of DLs that wont be available for the playoffs is piling up, but we havent really had any of these guys for quite a while.
It seems a lot worse to think that Wright, Brace and Deaderick are gone than it does to look at how minor all of their contributrions have been for the last month or two.

I wonder if Deaderick is being reinstated after 1 week of suspension, and thats the reason for the move?

I thought all reserve lists in the NFL were for the season (else a team could stash players beyond 53 on their roster by "suspending" and "reinstating" them as-needed).

Damn. Best wishes to Mike for a full recovery. Your long-term health is the most important priority.

Our down linemen are Wilfork - G. Warren - K. Love
Our only proven backup is M. Pryor if you call him proven. Cohen isn't very good. B.Deaderick better get his act together. We really need him. I'm a worry wort by nature. This won't help things. Great that we have home-field advantage. Shouldn't get tired playing outdoors.

So who's left, Wilfork/G. Warren/Pryor/Love and the two new guys Landon Cohen and Attiyah Ellison?

Does Moore also play defensive end, or is he only being used as an OLB?

We need a roster spot for Spikes, unless one of the off the street signees is cut, we have a full roster once Spikes' free week ends.

darn. this blows. :(

He's been used as both, but when he's an end it's in a subpackage, usually as part of a four man line. I don't think he's played much 3-4 end, nor is he really suited to do so.

Hope he gets well and is back next year. He was having a great year, and was our best pass rusher (still our sack leader after missing 6 games). We are certainly weaker on D without him, but we have had our best streak of the season in his absence.

Brace and Wright had diff strengths, the former was strong vs run and later vs pass. The Pats certainly need players to step up and fill their specialized roles and as you mention they've done that down the stretch this season. Pats have allowed an avg of 9.4 pts per game last 5 games.

If this happened earlier in the season. I'd be more concerned but I think Big Vince, G.Warren, Love and Pryor will step up and be solid. The Pats really limited Warren's snaps last three games of season so hopefully he's reenergized for playoffs.

Gotta imagine this was just a shot across the bow for Deaderick and they'll have him active for playoffs. Can't see them going into championship game with Cohen as their 4th DL. (Edit: Oops, I guess Cohen is #5 assuming Pryor is fine.)

As scary as the depth is, as another poster mentioned, this is pretty much the rotation they've been working with for the last month or so, so it's not a huge deal.

Just leaves zero margin for injuries on the DL.
