Okay there's some sense to that - you do need to have guys in their prime. It is a question mark, no doubt. I almost feel like it'll jinx it if I hope too much.

But I can't help but feel that this admittely imperfect and young defense is learning scary fast.

Sims is the best analyst out there. He diagnosed what GB did, eliminating the advantage that Belichcik brings by his coaching. Then agreed they are beatable; but thought that few Teams could do what was necessary for 60 minutes.

Rodney has offered the prescription for a long time, but few Teams can implement it, lacking the will or personnel. Right now the biggest weakness is the lack of platooning opportunities on the injury wracked Defensive Line, to keep the undertalented players fresh.

No. End of story. Every single team not named the Seahawks has a decent chance of beating them.

I didn't have a problem with anything they said. In fact, I agree with them why Green Bay had success against the Pats a few weeks ago. The Pats are not invincible. They will be a tough team to beat, but there are several teams in the playoff capabable of doing it if they don't make mistakes.

The 2007 squad was looking about as invincible as it will ever get and look what happened there

Even when that team showed signs of slowing down in December they found a ways to win entering the playoffs but that invincibility was short lived 3 weeks later.

If this 2010 team were at 100% strength Health wise they could be miles above the rest but they aren't and are just a shade better right now IMO

It's the headlines that are annoying, "Invincible". This team is a workhorse lead by the most ring thirsty QB I've ever seen. jinx headlines were 2007-08 not this year.

The analysists weren't buying into the headline either. They know better than to have Marshall on that panel, he's been down right embarrassing lately. Fire that creep!!!

Inside the NFL is on Showtime and is not nearly as good as it once was when it was on HBO - more of a clown show - although the highlights are usually good.

Not true. Every team has a chance to win in the playoffs, even if they are named Seahawks.

I kind of figured folks would start rolling out the playoff experience thing. Don Banks had this on SI (where he ranked the ats #1):

The good news for the Patriots is that they've had either a No. 1 or No. 2 seed and a first-round bye on five occasions since the playoffs expanded in 1990, and they've launched a Super Bowl run from that position each time. But if there's a cause for concern, it's that this isn't the battle-tested New England team of yore when it comes to playoff experience. I count only six active-roster players who were with the Patriots when they last won a Super Bowl after the 2004 season, and two of those are players who left and came back in recent years (Deion Branch and Tully Banta-Cain). Then again, they do still have Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. So never mind.

Guess they have to find something. My answer that I'm waiting for someone to point out is: Look who they've played. Look at the number of high-profile games they've played against top teams, and look how they've performed. They can handle pressure. My only concern is the injuries on defense, and most of the guys don't go deep enough to grasp that. And, yeah, anyone can beat anyone.

Pats are definitely beatable. They are a great team. But as stated by the above poster, essentially any team in the post season right now could hand the Pats a loss.

On the reverse side I feel they could beat anyone in the post season, but invincible. That is just straight up laughable.

I would agree... I don't believe in jinxes ... this is something that most fans would like to believe in, to cover up poor performance on the field by their favorite team, when it counts.

Take 2007 - was there a jinx? Certainly not. The Giants did well to restrain Brady (their strategy to contain his powerful offensive skills worked). Although we had the lead, it was too slim. Plus, there was the matter of the miracle catch.

It is very tough to beat this team. The other teams need to play perfect football for 60 mins and avoid any kind of mistakes, penalties, etc. I don't think other teams are as disciplined and this is the real edge the Pats have.

Atlanta could be a tough opponent in the SB.. In the playoffs, the Colts are always contenders and so are the Steelers / Ravens. Ultimately, the Pats have to play like they have been doing ... like real winners.
