Andrew Luck to stay at Stanford for his junior season.

Andrew Luck

I guess he didn't want to go to Carolina.

Leinart may have been the #1 pick and after staying another season, he went #10 overall.

Jake Locker may have been the #1 pick last year and after staying another season, some people have him
going in the 2nd round.

With a rookie salary cap on the horizon, this is a risky move.

Sucks to be Carolina.

Just wanted to say that. They were really getting agitated about getting him, now they will keep the Clausen experiment going I suppose. I don´t like him.

Academia vs 30 mil guaranteed. Dear lord.

Maybe Andrew Luck really doesn't want to play for Carolina.

Re: What the LUCK!

Maybe he felt the possibility of a lockout and no NFL games was not worth the risk of not being able to play football for a year.

Re: What the LUCK!

It worked out well for Jake Locker and Matt Leinhart.

Re: What the LUCK!

This tells me alot about the kid.I dont get it.I doubt Stanford will the same team they where this year.Alot of risks being taken.

Re: What the LUCK!

Harborough staying at Stanford perhaps?

Re: What the LUCK!

Also means one less player to be pushed down the board to New England. :(

Naaaahhh...just wait until ESPN has completed their full dose of hype for the next guy. Every year it's a quarterback who is in a completely different class than everyone else. Three months ago, Luck was a mid-first to early-second round pick and Locker was the best prospect since John Elway. In mid-November, it was Mallett. By April, it will be either Newton, Gabbert, or some late bloomer like Cutler or Flacco, who suddenly cannot possibly be passed on.

Re: What the LUCK!

I imagine this will turn Cam Newton into the flavor of the month, as long as he has a good game vs. Oregon.

Labor dispute, wanting to get his degree...yeah, I can't blame him for staying.

More like 50 million. If you are the #1 pick, I'm not sure how you can decide to stay in school and risk another year. All it takes is someone rolling up on your knee, or simply a slight decline. Locker was going top 5 last year. This year I'm not even sure he'll go in the first round.

You think teams draft on ESPN hype? NFL scouts>McShay and Kiper Jr.

Re: What the LUCK!

I know this has been pointed out before, but Schefter reminds via Twitter:

"Had Peyton Manning come out early he would have been a NY Jet. Instead returned to school, became a Colt. 1 decision, 2 franchises affected"

Re: What the LUCK!

Dumbest decision ever

If a rookie cap comes into play or he gets hurt he has blown a ridiculous opporunity
