Rex Ryan: Manning prepares more than Brady

Jets coach Rex Ryan was at it again on Thursday as he attempted to shower Peyton Manning with praise in advance of his team's showdown with the Colts Saturday night in Indianapolis. But in the process of crediting Manning preparatory skills, he slighted Tom Brady.

"I know Brady thinks he does. But it's Peyton Manning," Ryan said, according to the New York Daily News. Ryan's comments come on the same day that Brady was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month for December - which included a Brady-led 45-3 rout of New York on Dec. 6.

Why does he keep talking? They aren't even playing the Patriots this week. This type of talk is just juvenile and uncalled for.

He comes from the Ravens. Everyone on that team has an inferiority complex towards the Patriots, and it's been multiplied now that he's coaching the Jets.

So Brady's better even though he prepares less than Manning. :eek:

Rex Ryan...the gift that keeps on giving...:rolleyes:

Ryan = Tool

I find it to be a really strange one. I actually don´t mind Rex Ryan. He is a character, straightforward and while he dishes out a lot, he can handle it when it all comes back on him.

However, I really, really can not see why he would constantly refer to everyone and sundry in his interviews in ways which will only make them more determined to beat him. I mean he doesn´t only do it with the Patriots, it´s as if he is trying to piss everyone off and create the most adversity for his team and himself to overcome. Is that some kind of us against the world mentality he is trying to get going with the Jets?

I don´t know. In any case it doesn´t do the Pats any harm and maybe pushes them even more. Fine with me.

If the Jets win...........at the first practice, "Come on Brady everybody knows you don't prepare like Peyton. Now do it again!"

Awesome. Now either the Jets lose or they face a fired-up TFB at home. Who was that guy on Pittsburgh who said TFB wasn't that good? The guy who Brady targeted to smoke with 2 or 3 TDs?

Well Rex, just imagine what will happen when Brady does for the Jets the next time the two teams meet.

I know he's attempting to do what all coaches do, talk up the opponent in public, hope they get a little over confident, and at minimum don't give them any bulletin board material.

But instead of doing that, all Ryan accomplishes is that he once again sticks his foot in his mouth.

(insert foot joke here)

All kidding aside, how would Ryan know which one prepares more than the other? If he wants to compliment Manning on his preparation then all he has to do is say something like 'nobody is better prepared than Peyton Manning, so we have to be ready' or something like that. There's no reason for bringing Brady into the conversation. If anything, it only shows that Brady is in Ryan's head and he's more focused on the Patriots than on the team he is up against in a playoff game a couple days from now.

i feel like if there's one thing that'll piss Brady off to no end, its taking a shot at his work ethic. Rex is setting himself up for another embarrassment.

45-3

and while dog faking on game prep

TFB = GOAT!

My thoughts exactly. I was going to post the same thing, its a compliment when you really think about it. :p

well..he has won against brady and never against manning so it comes from there. i like it how he says "he" has not beaten manning vs "we" .

Brady just knows that the Patriots aren't going to lose. It's like he has a Tom To-Do list on his left wristband. Toy with Steelers ... Throw to No. 81. ... Make Anthony Smith cry.

Of course, this year, that list looked just a bit different . . .

"Toy with Steelers . . . Throw to No. 87 . . . Make William Gay cry.

True but how often does Rexy and his Jets have to play Manning? he has to prepare for us, they play us twice a season. The Jets never really play Colts in a regular season.

No one loves feet like Rex Ryan.

Seriously, how does Ryan know something like this? Is does he have cameras at both team's facilities watching them prepare?

Why would Ryan say crap like this. Personally, I don't care, but he really comes off as an idiot when he does.

He is lucky the media loves the guy. I have never seen a guy who gets more of free pass than this guy. I loved how on Hard Knocks, the team gets reamed out by him for bring McDonalds on the practice field and the media ignores that he lets the inmates run the asylum so much that the players think it is ok if they snack during practice in front of all the fans and praise him for his speech reaming them out praising him for that is why people love to play for him. I know if a Patriots player was caught on tape bringing fast food on the field during practice in training camp, the media would still be blasting Belichick for it.
