Brady or Belichick: who would you choose

the issue of the owner choosing Fisher over Young came up. And several people suggested it is better to keep the QB than the coach.

Now Fisher ain't BB and Young ain't Brady and I serioulsy doubt it would ever come to this.

But let's say you were Kraft, and BB and TB's relationship deteriorated to a point that you had to choose one. Who would you keep? The coach or the QB? And why?

I voted Bill Belichick, in large part because of what he did in 2008 without Brady.

Gut feeling would be to keep the coach. I would have faith in BB to find the new TFB. Doubt it will ever happen though. Have a feeling they go together or TFB has one final season somewhere else and BB stays at NE.

I voted Bill Belichick, in large part because of what he did in 2008 without Brady.

Bud Adams isn't gonna have to make this decision either.

Belichick and his team all the way. Brady is good, but with Belichick eventually you will get a smart good QB whom you can groom and program to fit your agenda.
I think if you give Cassel the education Brady got from Charley and BB, he can be close to what Brady is right now.

BB is the organization. The winning attitude comes from him. There are plenty of HOF QB's but nobody else who has held the position he does comes close.

You can groom and program a HC to fit your agenda about as easily as you can a HOF QB...Just ask NY and Cleveland and Denver who have tried to replicate one while never coming close to having the other. People don't realize how much of Brady was inherent in him and had nothing to do with coaching beyond having the capacity to make the most of it. They didn't teach him poise or temperement or field vision or the uncanny ability to make guys believe in him and want to run through walls to perform up to his standards or the determination to work tirelessly on his craft long after he was a HOF lock.

I love Cassel and was one of his consistent fans even when most had him headed to Walmart. But at the end of the day all he's ever going to be is as close to Brady as say Croyle is to him. He's a top flight second tier hard nosed game manager who will not cost you games and may occasionally win you a few though essentially functioning best as a solid game manager for a team with a talented and balanced offense and a defense that doesn't blow chunks...

As for this ridiculous hypothetical pole, luckily we won't ever have to choose in case any of you still haven't come to terms with that. Just another special aspect of this pairing.

Frankly, I don't know why or how we can even have this discussion.

The truth is neither has accomplished anything without the other.

Granted, Belichick accomplished things before becoming a head coach. Granted, Brady hasn't had any opportunity to accomplish things outside of Belichick's coachings, and he never wants to. Who can blame him?

They are - for right or wrong - inseparable and linked together. And they both understand this and have no problem with it. So fans shouldn't either.
