It cracks me up when people talk about Cromartie as if he was good

and one of the reasons he was acquired-

New York Jets will see if offseason moves to stop Indianapolis Colts were enough - ESPN New York

man, the tone of the article is so pro jets , i hope manning torches them.
Obviously we as fans of the Patriots are going to be more aware of Pats-Jets columns than Jets-Colts columns, but this is the first I have heard of this. Until the last 24 hours I haven't heard anything from Ryan about Manning or the Colts, but he's had plenty to say about the Patriots on a non-stop basis since day one in New Jersey.

The Jets-Colts II makes a nice angle for those wanting to talk about this game, but I'm not buying the idea that the Jets roster was put together to beat the Colts. Every move they have made to try to put themselves in position to beat a specific team was with the Patriots in mind, not the Colts. The implication that the Pats were in the Jets' rear view mirror and they were solely focused on the Colts in 2010 is ridiculous.

I think the Jets matchup well against the Colts. I'll be more surprised if the the Colts win.

I disagree, The Jets cant stop good offenses, especially good pass offenses.
I would definitely take the Colt D stopping the Jet O over the Jet D stopping the Colt O.

I think Cromartie matches up well on Wayne if they decided to play him there. He's tall and Wayne has really slowed down, very similar to Moss slowing down in 2008 and 2009. It would free up Revis to place on Garcon probably, who else do they have? Blair White is a crappy version of Austin Collie. The place where the Jets defense has really struggled is in the middle. If a guy like Tamme beats them in the middle along with the guys they have in their backfield, they deserve to lose.

Jets win and they have to give up a 2nd, plus they play the Pats the next week. I like it!

Everyone knows the Jets made the brash roster moves in their attempt to overtake the Patriots. The Colts are just a distraction to that.

It's ironic now that the acquisition of Antonio Cromartie is meaningless given our tight ends and the olive Branch returning home.

wow, what a rumpswab article. i'm shocked it was espn.

This article is just a means of setting up excuses for the Jets when they lose to Indy. It really is as simple as that.

I agree. As I said to begin with, the guy can make some outstanding plays, but gives up as many big plays. He is a liability against a team like the Patriots because he can only cover big guys on the outside. He can't cover small shifty guys like Branch or Welker at all.

He actually is good. He's not the best and does make bonehead plays once and awhile but who's better in stopping the deep threat?

Peyton will torch the Jet's pass rush the same way Brady does and Sanchez will pee down his leg versus the hostile Indy crowd, pumped in noise and the Freeney-Mathis attack.

Bingo! I am so rooting for the Jets to win that game........

.....and then we improve on that 45-3 beatdown a week later - - this time, no field goal.

And for all that, the Jets lose their 2nd round pick.

The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

That's a very Patriots-centric point of view and is, IMO, wrong.

They split against the Patriots last year. But Indy would have beaten them in the regular season had they not pulled Manning, and then Indy did beat them in AFCCG to end their season.

I can easily see how Ryan and Tannenbaum could see the Patriots as being in decline, and focused on what they had to do to get to the Super Bowl (i.e. beat Manning). The Patriots had been massacred by the Ravens two weeks before the Jets led the Colts in the second half before falling short.

In the time it took me to read this thread, Cromartie impregnated 2 women.

I don't see the Colts having enough good receiving options to beat the Jets the way the Pats did. Pats didn't throw in Revis's direction once and spread the ball around in a way I don't think the Colts can match. Collie was big down the middle in last year's AFCCG. That said: HFA and Manning will make it tight, and I'd never rule the Colts out.
