No doubt you've heard the sound bite from Tucker Carlson, where he states that Michael Vick should have been executed for his crimes. Carlson's statements were obviously inflammatory and designed to gather headlines. I am tempted to ignore his outrageous statements, preventing him from remanding in the spotlight further. However, I cannot sit here and have a sports blog without putting my two cents in on this knucklehead.

The Voice of The Fan: FVP: Tucker Carlson Is Clueless

I don't think he should have been executed, but I do wish the law would treat crimes against animals more severely.

As I told one of my friends when he posted a link to this on Facebook: I like to believe that people at Fox sit around backstage playing a drinking game based on who can saying the stupidest freaking **** on air and get away with it.

Completely agree on that - despite the time served, he still got off easy considering what he did.

This thread already has the makings of turning into a political flame thread.

So in order to avoid that, I'm moving it off the main forum.

Also, the Vick issue has been beaten to death, no pun intended.

Nah, those talking heads know exactly what the outcome will be. Look at Governor Rendell's comments about playing SNF in the blizzard. I watched that live on TV and he's leaving office in a week and being a media moth ( he gravitates towards the light) he needs the attention that come with controversy. Same with Carlson....

I don't think he was trying to 'know better'. I think he was trying to enflame.

This is pretty clearly a "modest proposal" type situation. That said, there is a point underneath the hyperbole that I sort of a agree with.
