I usually spend game day making sure every last detail is buttoned up and then I am in the truck at the start of the game grinding and hoping we have three plus hours of focused flawless execution.

However if I wasn't a complete control freak with a million plus dollar note still due on the truck and other assorted gear, I would gladly hang out in the cheerleading section.

Same here. Although I don't think clayborn is a fit with us I will be all over aldon smith and tim barnes with my very untrained eye tonight.

Christian Ballard may or may not be a fit @ 3-4 DE but seems to have the measurables and his 4.8 40 looks great for his size.

Clayborm and Ballard handled by single Missouri O line guys last night. Klug was the only one that impressed me. He is like a slightly bigger version of that guy we drafted from Rutgers a few years back whose dad played for the Jets.

Yeah, Klug is the guy I want off that line. He jumped onto my radar in last year's bowl game, when he (as a 270 pound DT) dominated GT's OL on inside runs out of their triple option. He's got the size and not horrible athleticism to play OLB, but I see him as more of a subpackage DE prospect.

Military Bowl (East Carolina vs. Maryland)

• Maryland WR Torrey Smith (6-1, 205, 4.37): A junior with nice speed and elusiveness after the catch (65-1,045-12), scouts project him as a top 50 pick but hope he'll be more productive than Darrius Heyward-Bey at the next level.

• Maryland RB Da'Rel Scott (5-11, 205, 4.42): When healthy, Scott can be very explosive. NFL teams will like his chances once he has the benefit of consistent quarterback and offensive line play.

• East Carolina WR Dwayne Harris (5-10, 205, 4.54): A versatile slot receiver (93-1,055-10) who relies on tough running to succeed, rather than elite speed. His return ability is another plus (three kickoff return TDs in 2009).

Texas Bowl (Baylor vs. Illinois)




• Baylor LT Danny Watkins (6-4, 310, 5.17): A 26-year-old Canadian, he has transformed from firefighter to possible top 75 pick with his play for the Bears the past two seasons.

• Baylor DT Phil Taylor (6-4, 340, 5.26): Penn State transfer has put past behind him and is flashing the lateral movement and strength of a top 50 talent.

• Illinois ILB Martez Wilson (6-4, 250, 4.59): This Karlos Dansby clone has always had the athleticism, but the junior is now starting to make plays (105 tackles, 11.5 TFL, 4.5 sacks).

• Illinois RB Mikel LeShoure (6-0, 230, 4.53): Put up 330 yards against Northwestern with a superior burst once past the line of scrimmage; the junior reminds scouts of last year's late first-round pick, Ryan Mathews.

Alamo Bowl (Arizona vs. Oklahoma State)

• Oklahoma State Justin Blackmon (6-1, 208, 4.54): OSU's newest star had 100 receiving yards and at least one TD catch from junior QB Brandon Weeden in every game he played this season (102-1,665-18.)

• Oklahoma State RB Kendall Hunter (5-8, 200, 4.48): He's not nearly as explosive as former Cowboy Barry Sanders, but he is looking like his strong, low center-of-gravity 2008 self (1,516 yards, 16 touchdowns).

• Oklahoma State CB Andrew McGee (6-0, 190, 4.54): JUCO transfer who has five interceptions this season but must use his physicality and length to cover Arizona junior WR Juron Criner.

• Arizona DE/OLB Brooks Reed (6-3, 262, 4.73): A poor man's Clay Matthews III, Reed will use his hustle and pass rush skills (6.5 sacks) as a 3-4 linebacker at the next level.

• Arizona DE Ricky Elmore (6-5, 260, 4.83): Ranked seventh in the country with 11 sacks (after being credited with 10.5 in 2009), Elmore's combination of size and effort gives him a chance to play a long time in the NFL.

Yea was saying "maybe we should be watching klug" to myself last night ballard was invisible and his motor left alot to be desired. IMHO

Anyone watching Mikel Leshoure tonight? He looks pretty good would love to see him slip a couple rounds. But that's looking less and less likely. It's now the 2Q and he has almost 80 yards on like 11 carries.

Gives these guys some props

DE Brooks Reed: No. 42 (6-3, 255)
Impression: Plays hard and at least has the explosion to be a threat as a pass rusher at the next level. However, his ability to develop a counter move and become more than a one-trick pony off the edge is key. Looks more like a nickel rusher or potential 3-4 OLB prospect who I would take a shot on because of his initial burst and overall work rate on the field.



DE Ricky Elmore: No. 44 (6-5, 260)
Impression: A technically sound, methodical pass rusher who isn’t overly explosive, but knows how to free himself off the edge and work his way toward the quarterback. Has the ability to initially help out as a rotation guy in a 4-3 and does have some starting potential.

As noted Klug did his thing, but watching how well MO C Tim Barnes played against him gives me another C/G prospect in this draft.

Aldon Smith isn't ready to come out, his classmate #57 who subbed in for him was the kid making the plays at DE for MO - and doing it with one hand and one plaster club.

Iowa's CB Prater is talking about coming out and looked decent. Their Safety Sash would be a good one if he declares. I thought Missouri's #20 was also a nice physical CB.

I think MO's QB is going to get a good grade from the NFL Advisory Committee and be a first round prospect, possibly a Top 10 pick to help push DL down to NE's pick.
