Patriots are undefeated since Matt joined us for the Steeler game on 11/14.

Just saying ... with all the love being thrown around ... give Matt a group hug.

Aw-ight, I'm in.

Matt-ula (as I like to call him), is the glue that holds this 2010 group together. Three Cheers for Matt. Hip Hip..... Horay. :rocker:

Matt who? ...Exactly.

A few days ago somebody mentioned Katula, and I had no idea who he was.

That's probably the ultimate compliment to a long snapper: nobody knows your name.

Thanks for posting the images of him as well. I don't think I ever saw what he looked like before

He's done a great job. As jmt57 said, it's probably the ultimate compliment that we don't even know who he is really.

I liked Ingram. He was very good his rookie season. I don't know what happened or where it went off the tracks, but it clearly did. Katula has done a great job stabilizing the position for us.

Yea and people claimed they should of kept Ingram lol. I hope we continue to not notice Katula :eat3:

And Shayne Graham as well If I remember right.

The feature on him on last weeks All Access was very good. Quite sad as well. If you aren't a Franchise Kicker, you have a hectic career of moving around.

If Graham continues to put FG's through the posts, do you think Bill keeps him around to compete with Gostkowski through Camp?

I doubt it, there's plenty of kicker needy teams out there still, I think graham will likely move on. That is if gostowski really will have no longterm effects from the injury. graham hasn't had to make a clutch field goal yet which slightly worries me but hopefully he does fine and he gets a superbowl ring out of it :rocker: .

I'd assume no, but should never assume anything with BB. Still, I think Graham may have better offers available after going 11 for 11.

Graham was signed as a short-term injury replacement, so probably signed for the vet minimum for one season only, so he'd be a FA. If he gets a firm offer from someone, he'll take it. I'd be surprised if he didn't get an offer when guys like Graham Gano and Nick Folk have jobs.

Graham, Katula aim to make their mark in postseason with Patriots - WEEI | Christopher Price

Adam Vinatieri and Lonie Paxton were playoff heroes for the Patriots, posting clutch performances in the postseason on several occasions to lift New England to greatness. Along the way, Shayne Graham and Matt Katula couldn’t help but notice the heroics.

“I mean, it would be kind of hard not to. There can’t really be anyone who watches football who hasn’t seen any of his game-winners in the Super Bowl and other times,” the latest Patriots kicker said of Vinatieri. “Obviously, he has had a great career and he had a great career here. We all want to have success. We all want to have those opportunities.”

“It’s funny — being a snapper, you know the other guys out there,” Katula said of Paxton. “And besides the snow angels and whatever he did — I’m sure he did great things in the community and has a family — he was a really good snapper. First and foremost, from my perspective, he threw good balls. He’s one of the guys you strove to be like.”

With the playoffs looming, Graham and Katula could have an opportunity to replicate those magic moments for the Patriots.
