Pats may have to spend Sunday night in Buffalo

I don't care if it snows for every single Pats game the rest of the way. In fact, I hope it does. :singing:

No, there is no snow in Buffalo, or very little.

There will be snow on the way back possibly making it so they have to spend a whole extra day in a Ramada Inn in Buffalo NY. Not fun for the guys.

Or risk crashing the plane in a driving blizzard.

Actually, flying in the snow, and even with certain wind conditions isn't the problem. The big problem with blizzards is visibility during the approach to the runway. All airports have a minimum distance for visibility, the distance at which the pilot must be able to visually see the runway. When you go below those minimums, they force you to divert, or climb and hold if they think conditions will improve shortly. You can take off with virtually no visibility, and also fly, and most of your approach to the field can be done on instruments. However, there is a line that you can't cross. I only had to divert a half dozen times when I was in the Navy, and in all but one or two of those times the cause was weather below minimums. the other two were icing and extreme crosswinds.

Blizzard to dump 12 inches or so and will be ongoing sunday afternoon to monday morning over providence.

It would be funny for them to get back and unable to get out of the airport due to too much snow.

Maybe spend Monday there too and come back Monday night, late.

They better win or it will be a long weekend!

I guess that I don't have the same sense of humor that you do.

You think it would be funny for the NE Patriots team, who spent part or most of Xmas away from their families traveling to Buffalo, to be stranded at the airport?

Not funny ha ha. Well it would be a good bonding experience anyway. Maybe they'll land in Albany and take a bus to providence.

Albany might be out too though.

They might be there til Tuesday. Which is kind of funny cause that's the name of a group from the 1980s.

They'll drive home, it's only a 7 hour drive, plus they won't have hotel rooms in Buffalo. Tens of thousands are coming in for the World Junior Hockey Championships. There are no hotel rooms whasoever available anywhere.

On a quasi-related note, any guesses on how Mr. Comeback (Vick) does in the snow and wind?

A seven hour drive in good weather, of course. Massachusetts, especially areas east of I-495, is going to be terrible.

I think he'll do well. Not as well as Brady, but the thing about snow is that it's hard on pass rushers, and he'll probably find some good running lanes. I suspect his passer rating will suffer, though.

I think that would be hilarious. As a matter of fact, I just shat my pants thinking about it and laughing.

Heavy wind predicted ( along with 12+ inches of snow) which takes away the passing game. I have to believe it gives the Eagles an edge if it's a running game with the ball in Vick's hands, especially with A Peterson questionable with a calf injury for the Vikings.

Our championship hopes aere dashed.

Tha Pats would prolly prefer to actually walk out of that grey, decrepit, & vacuous city rather than spend another night there. They might vanish off the face of the Earth otherwise. People go to Buffalo to disappear. It's a freaking personality & cultural wasteland. Or maybe they'd turn into pillars of salt or something. Welcome to Buffalo, Western New York. You are now entering The Twilight Zone. (Cue Rod Serling and the hypnotic music)

Supposed to be some hot night life just over the border.

Just make sure you check your bag if your cousin helped you pack, guys.:D

LOL, as much as I've always wanted Ty back, glad he's not with us this weekend

The Best QBs in Subfreezing Weather

This article looks at cold temperatures, though not wind/snow, but finds Vick has struggled in games below freezing, including two losses to Philly when he was with the Falcons.

Interesting sidenote is that Manning has never thrown a TD in a game with freezing temperatures despite playing in 6 of them.

I thought iced run ways were also included in the reasons they don't fly in blizzards.
