OT: Eagles had 10 players on the field for onside kick

That's pretty clever. Surprised Andy Reid came up with it. Actually he probably didn't and the ST coach did.

For those who want to re-watch this game, Reid makes some really dumb decisions as always. It was an amazing comeback, but they shouldn't have had to come back from so far if their coach wasn't focused on the after-game snack.

And I don't really like Coughlin, but he's kinda growing on me with bits like this:

How did Coughlin cope with the crushing loss to the Eagles?

"I sat in a room with the lights out for about 2-1/2 hours," he said. When the media laughed, he added "It's not funny. It's not the way it's supposed to be."

That didn't stop his one-liners, though. Asked if he talks to anyone after a loss like that, he said "My wife ignores me and I don't have a dog." Asked what his "process" is for getting over it, he said "Phony facial expressions, lousy jokes, that kind of stuff."

Wow, that's genius. That loss is gonna sting for a long time for the giants. First time eagles visit the new stadium the miracle in the meadowlands returns!

there is a poll on that link:

How do you rate Tom Coughlin and his staff's performance against Philadelphia?

-F: 66%

Hahaha, the eagles purposefully only had 10 players on the field when they did the onside kick, causing confusion amongst the Giants:

Eagles ploy on onside kick fools Giants players, distracts them from coach Tom Coughlin's warning

The game will be re-broadcast on NFLN at 8pm EST Tuesday.

For anyone who has seen the video of the onside kick, did it hit the ground?? It appeared that Akers kicked it up in the air and an Eagle caught it ten yards downfield. If so, it should not have counted as an onside kick has to go ten yards ( or be touched by the receiving team) AND either hit the ground or have the receiving team have an opportunity to catch it. It doesn't appear that either happened in this case.
Too late now.......

Just thought something, if there is only 10 players, means the kicker and 9 others, which means one side of the ball had 5 players and the other 4!

I thought the kicking team had to have equal either side? Or is that just for 11 players?

Each team has 11 players on the field at a time. Eagles had only 10 players, because one player was leaving the field right before the kick.

That's higher than I thought. Who were these other 34% of Giants fans not giving Coughlin an F after a loss? :p Bear in mind that most Giants fans also wanted to fire him before they went on their improbable SB run.

Me too. Living in Toronto, got to see a lot of Buffalo games and they always had great STs and not much else the past few years  Don't miss him at all.
