Pats Roster Move: Leonard Released

Wow... Aikens would fit in nicely. He was VERY good on special teams while with New England.

This does seem like good news. As Derek mentioned it would seem as if Leonard being released is a sign that one or more defensive linemen are getting healthier - and that none of them are headed to IR. And if the Pats can find room on the roster for Aiken, that should improve all four special teams units too.

Picked him up, didn't use him when in desperate need of a body for a few snaps, then release him.

I doubt it means we're all healthy, probably he didn't impress.

Hard to get excited about Aiken, but s teams have looked shaky. Hope we keep looking for a big body. We've got an extra running back, at least. Either IR Taylor or cut Clayton if we can find a DL with any chance of filling in for a few snaps.

Aiken was not "very good" for the Pats on special teams. He was average. And, in all honesty, the Pats cut him for a reason. That they wanted to go a different way.

With Connolly's status up in the air, the Pats could sign Thomas Austin from the practice squad. Or, if they are truly worried about special teams (which I don't think they are cause they've actually been very good a limiting the returns of teams), Pierre Woods would be a better candidate.

I'd take Aiken back, he was actually a decent reciever. He's hard to tackle, it's just you don't want him as your #2 option. Him coming in once in a while as a 4th or 5th option wouldn't be bad. As for special teams, I don't pay close enough attention to really comment on that.

In his report, Reiss did say that Brace was at a charity event and Pryor was walking around the locker room. Thats positive.

BB did say that Wright is doing better but Reiss has not seen him since the Indy game.

Isnt pierre woods with buffallo now.

Mike Wright is probably ready to go great news.:)

OK, but who were the others that were working out? Would have been nice to have all the information.

3 players ,wr sam aiken, dl landon cohen, and cfl wr andy funtaz, were in for a workout today.

As tempting as it is to read some of this as positive about our wounded DL's, there's really nothing here yet. We are left hoping.

The concussion stuff worries me the most.

Pryor was the only one working out and I'm guessing that he is back for Buffalo. The concussion guys are a concern, especially Wright who is our best rushing DL and has already missed a month. Recovery can be highly variable so BB may not know any more than we do. Not ready, don't know when. Like to get another Seymour/Warren stud early in the draft.

We really need the win in Buffalo to give Vince and Gerard a couple of weeks off.

Need as many healthy DL as we can get for Bills.....I think the Pats are gonna have their hands full....especially if they play like they did on defense vs GB......

It's an away game, and Fitzpatrick has looked good recently....plus the Bills do have a bit of a running game...

Don't have a good feeling about this one....

Aiken would help the special teams and would allow another player to be off special teams. Other than that, no roster move will help this week. We could use players for next week when we want to rest some starters.

Aiken was good on special teams, if the Pats sign Aiken, it means that Wright, Brace and good to go. It would also be a very bad sign for Edelman. Let's face it another bad drop last Sunday, is it time to move off Edelman as the 5th reciever? Aiken could take his role or maybe we will have a Price sighting

I doubt Ron Brace, his concussion is now in it's second week. Mike Wright has been out for like a Month now.

As a receiver, it's a lost season for Edelman. He got hurt in camp and has had a tough time getting on the field. He still has something to offer though on ST.

With that said, I'm not giving up on the kid but he'll have his hands full making the team in 2011.

I turn gray everytime i see McCourty or Woodhead make a tackle on ST's.:(
