As of now, there are three 10-4 AFC teams. Any could wind up as the 5th seed, beat the 4th seed, then travel to Foxboro.

There also are 4-5 teams in the 7-7 to 9-5 range with a shot at a division championship (depending on whether you include the Raiders or not). Any could wind up as the 4th seed and beat the 5th seed, thus earning a trip to Foxboro.

Things will become clearer later, of course. But right now the Patriots have at least 6 different plausible Divisional Round opponents.

pretty simple... the chiefs should hold serve and win the west.. indy may stub toe in oakland , and jax could get back in there and balt and the jets are pretty much locks- that being said kc is the third seed, indy/jax the fourth, balt and the jets are 5 and six... so we will play on that sunday, jets, balt or indy/jax- out of those four i dont want balt... im hoping for a jax pull out the south, upset baltimore , kc beats the jets, we play jax, kc plays pitt- pitt vs pats afc title game...

Nice write-up.

OT- The Pats will most likely play Sat nite.

If I was putting money on it, I imagine we'll be playing Baltimore or the Jets. Could you imagine, Divisional Weekend and the games are Pitt/Balt and NE/NYJ? The NFL and networks would cream their pants.

That would mean both wild cards win on the road in week 1, which is rare.

Yes, however I don't have alot of faith in the Chiefs winning their first playoff game. They remind me of the 08 Falcons; a good young team who is not really ready for the spotlight yet.

And Jax/Indy could easily lose to the Jets. I have no faith in the Jags whatsoever, and Peyton could revert back to the INT Machine at any time.

It's going to be the Colts. The Ravens put up a pathetic performance against them every post-season.

Jets (6) @ Chargers (3) = Chargers
Ravens (5) @ Colts (4) = Colts

Colts @ Patriots = Patriots
Chargers @ Steelers = Steelers

Steelers @ Patriots = Patriots

You read it here first.

Chiefs are 8-0 at home.
Indy is 5-2 but a totally different offense indoors.

I see this exact scenario playing out. KC will lose one of it's 2 remaining home games to (Tenn or Oak) and SD will win out to take the division.

SD grabs the 3-seed due to it's victory over Indy.

The only thing I would change here is SD/Pitt, I think SD would go into Heinz and beat that team (Steelers are so overrated). That would set up another SD/New England title game at the Razor........That would be a tad scary given the way Rivers and that offense is now playing with VJ back, but the frozen tundra at Gillette should help us.........

Who would you guys rather face if it comes down to Baltimore(5) vs Indy(4) and the #3 seed won? I might find myself rooting for peyton

I think it will be a little different, starting with the seeds:
1. NE
2. Pitt
3. KC
4. Indy
5. Jets
6. Balt

Baltimore at KC. Have to pick the Ravens.
Jets at Indy. Indy wins.

Therefore:

Baltimore at NE
Indy at Pitt
