Still very early and without the combine scores, subject to change.

1st round A - DE Dareus of Alabama. Best 3-4 DE in this draft and has three years experience in our defense. Needs technique work.

1st round B - OLB Kerrigan of Purdue. Capable of getting after the QB and setting a hard edgein the running game. How fast is he? Can he learn to cover?

2nd round A - CB Harris of Miami. Strong in coverage, excellent in run support and a ST demon to boot.

2nd round B - OG Boiling of Georgia. Nasty flat back run masher with feet and decent pass protection skills as well. Decent with his hands, and good hip roll. Needs to get stronger.

3rd round A - RB Thomas of Kansas State. Tall runner that can run hard between the tackles as well as catch balls in the flat. Can he be taught to pick up the blitz? Backup to Green Ellis.

3rd round B - SS Barron of Alabama. Three years experience in our defense. Knows the calls and coverages and is strong against the pass, run and willing to play ST. Needs a red shirt year.

4th round - WR Paul of Nebraska. If healthy he gives us the deep threat on the outside.

I absolutely love the thinking and structure of that mock. A question: are you building in any assumptions about Light, Mankins and Neal? What do you project as the starting OL in this scenario?

none of us really know what bill is thinking but here is my dream draft

1) amukamara, dareus, clayborne, or peterson

2) joe baldwin?, fairley, heyward, trade down?

3) harris, herzlich, jerell jernigan, titus young

Are you talking about the same Dareus who is being investigated for NCAA rules violations?

Sources: Alabama's Marcell Dareus under scrutiny - ESPN

Was investigated. Was punished (2 games I think). Given that the NCAA makes players ineligible for being near an agent, this was likely just Dareus not thinking and letting someone pay for his travel without him knowing precisely where the money was coming from. If the NCAA didn't find some kind of mitigating evidence in their investigation, the suspension would have been significantly worse.

Given Belichick's connections, I doubt he gets fooled on Dareus. If he checks out, he is probably the more ready Pats 3-4 DE in the draft. Now that the Raiders have broken the 6-win barrier, I doubt Dareus will be an option for the Pats anyway.

Nice Solid Mock if light and mankins come back. I think the dareus and Harris picks might be a bit optimistic though most mocks have dareus top 5-10 and i don't think oakland will pick there and harris is generally middle to late 1st round... then again you could argue he slips to 33. Other than that all i would say is i probably would have liked a developmental OT in there but they can be had in the latter rounds hopefully
