Source: Andy Fantuz to work out for Vikings, Patriots | National Football Post

The 6-foot-4, 221-pounder plays for the Sasketchewan Roughriders and is the first Canadian to lead the CFL in receiving in several years.

Per our source, the CFL All-Star is going to work out for three other NFL teams.

This season, he caught 87 passes for 1,380 yards and six touchdowns.

For his career, Fantuz has caught 276 passes for 4,136 yards and 23 touchdowns while averaging 15 yards per catch.

With Bigger balls and a longer field, no less!! ;)

He doesn't look especially fast or sudden, but can't deny his size and hands. I guess they wouldn't be looking at him if they didn't have interest.

NFLDraftScout listed him at 4.52, but watching that video he doesn't seem to create a ton of separation.

According to this article, he is a hot commodity for NFL teams this year.

Separation is huge. If a receiver can't get open, then why sign him?

Hmmm interesting size he's got. But how fast is he really? And imo a bigger field helps the offense more because the defense has to defend more ground per man.

I always think back to Jermaine Copeland, who played at Tennessee with Peyton Manning. He was big, had great hands and could jump, but wasn't very sudden or fast. He lit up NFL Europe, the XFL, and has been a good player in the CFL since, but couldn't stick in the NFL.

I don't know anything about Fantuz, but one would think he has to prove he has the speed and suddeness to play in the NFL.

To me, he looks like a TE! Looks slow for a WR!

6'4", 221.

With a little lifting he'd be bigger than AAron Hernandez (6'1" and 245, but that 245 seems high in looking at Aaron). I can believe that Gronk at 6'6" is 265, but Aaron seems like about 230.

Do we really get our money's worth for Canadians though?:p

I meant in the way he ran! Hernz looks fast than him!

Seems to be a shadow roster workout!

Randy Moss still has his great speed, and has always had size and great body control, and still has superb hands. However, Randy has lost his ability to separate; and this is the difference in his game now.

If he can run timing patterns with his size and has the hands, I am less concerned with speed. Guys like Hernandez prove the label of TE/WR is less significant than your ability to hold onto the ball when it is delivered.

Obviously if he is looked at as a possibility to stretch the field, his lack of speed would matter.

Oh I forgot to ask the obvious question. Can he rush the passer? :D
Too bad we didn't get Wake but the Pats did get Woodhead this season.
And i believe BJGE was a UDFA.

Not sure why Pats need another WR. Tate has speed and can return kicks....
Price hasn't even broken into the starting lineup yet....

BB is just doing his normal in season scouting for possible future need.

He's a lighter Gronkowski...

I have to agree with this. Pats are doing there usual "due diligence" and fleshing out their dossier on him.

Draft choices are reduced by one round when traded with teams north of the border. Signing bonuses get smaller but to make up for it, come in a variety of colors.

Some very nice hand catches; some awful green uniforms

He looks relatively unathletic, not just in terms of speed but the quickness in his cuts. Also it looks like he has not very long arms for a guy listed at 6'4".
