The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Steelers safety Troy Polamalu will likely miss Sunday's game against the Jets with an ankle injury. He aggravated his lower leg during an interception return for a touchdown against the Bengals on Sunday.

Former Ravens coach Brian Billick says Jets, Rex Ryan knew about sideline wall | NJ.com

They got to play many easy teams all season and barely win. Now that they have to play a tough team, the defensive star is out for Pitts! And we'll get to hear about how great Sanchez is all over again.

Dude... the Dolphins held them to six points at HOME. I wouldn't worry too much.

But imagine the pure joy of trouncing those buggers one more time...

Well, we probably won't have to face Aaron Rodgers. I'd say we got some breaks this year too....

and the Jets will still lose

This could be a huge statement game for the Jets.

If they win at Pittsburgh, with or without Polomalu playing, this could be a turning piont that could give them their swagger back and start them on a roll at the absolute best time of the season to be on a roll.

Rodgers, Steelers O line, Colts overall, Chargers overall ... we really can't complain (even as we've had our share of injuries too).

And, yes, Jets will still lose.

jets can beat either the steelers or bears. Both have oline issues which the jets D can exploit and in close games anything can happen. Of course if the jts win they will talk again about they are back to being the best team in the nfl

Jets this, Jets that, Jets this, Jets that.....

Yeah, Jets get aaaaaall the breaks.

The Pats beat the Jets 45-3 not too long ago, so I would imagine Bill Belichick would be thrilled to see the Jets win and get into the playoff pool. Not to mention, each loss for Pittsburgh is one step closer to the first seed. Consider the Patriots good fortune on this one.

Didn't the Pats just soundly beat the Steelers WITH Troy playing?

I don't think the Jet's pose any problem to the Pats if they make the playoffs....

Unless the Pats lose Brady, MCourty,BJGE, and maybe BB to injury.....:rocker:

No matter who loses that game, we win, so who cares? If the Jets win and we beat Green Bay we lock up the 1 seed, I can live with that.

Me too. Sounds like a plan. :rocker:

Oh only if that were true. We don't lock up anything we don't already have if the Jets win.

Yeah you're right, damn division tie breaker. Even then we would have to lose out and they would still need to beat the Bears in Chicago.

That said I still don't think they have a prayer of beating Pittsburgh this weekend.

You do realize all four teams in any division have identical schedules, with the exception of two games based on the previous season's record, don't you?

Even if Polamalu does not play, the Steelers still have an excellent chance of winning. And even if the Steelers do lose, it solidifies the Patriot's chances for top seed in the playoffs.

It's a win-win, no matter what happens.

That's my take on it. Would rather face the Jets than the Steelers although I have confidence with the Pats taking on either team.

Haven't we learned yet that what they talk about does not matter?
