It pains me to have to "root" for the Steelers to beat the Jets, but since it will add to the misery of the Jets, I'll be worth it. :rocker:

"Beat"? There's no doubt in my mind the Steelers will win. So I'm going for "pummel mercilessly."

Steelers will beat the Jets if Ben is active. With his ankle injury, his status is uncertain as of now...

Aside from Jets-Steelers, the Saints-Ravens should be a great game - and also go a long way to determining who makes the playoffs in both conferences.

If New Orleans wins they go to 11-3 and are a virtual lock for a playoff spot. Tampa Bay's playoff hopes may not look good, but consider this: they're home against Detroit and Seattle before playing at New Orleans week 17. The Saints could be locked into the #5 seed at that point and rest some starters for that game.

If the Bucs win that game and finish 11-5 they might just grab the #6 seed, even though most are giving them no chance right now. Green Bay has to finish with games at NE, then home against the Giants and Bears.

The Eagles and Giants play each other Sunday, so one of them drops to 9-5. Philly finishes with home games against the Vikings and Cowboys; the Giants finish with two games on the road, at Green Bay and Washington. One of them - more likely the Giants - could end up 10-6 and out of the playoffs.

It's amazing that the 49ers could be in 1st place after this weekend.

They need to reseed the playoffs... if an nfc west team wins the division at 7-9 and a 10-6 team misses the playoffs.. ugh. I'm betting against who ever that team is in the 1st round that"s for sure.

What's up with Mike Singletary and the sunglasses?

At least Tony Soprano has a medical condition....maybe it's painful to watch Alex Smith throw?:cool::cool:

If you're in favor of reseeding then root for those NFC West teams to lose every week - obviously not possible for both teams to lose when they play each other, but you get the point. The possibility of reseeding in the future is in direct correlation with the NFCW division winner's final record. Nothing will happen with a 9-7 division winner; most likely the same with a final record of 8-8.

But a 7-9 team getting a playoff game at home - yeah, that'll get a lot of attention.

Hell of a start for the Chargers. I'd love to know what the CB was thinking, though. He played that ball terribly.

Hopefully Vincent Jackson doesn't keep playing like that.

I thought I was watching that Pats/Chargers Sunday Night from 08 just now.

Chargers are a weird team. They are up and down. They could be dangerous in the playoffs. The 49ers are a joke.Singletary should be fired at the end of the season.

jamie DUkes is so unbelievably stupid.

It's funny, one 5-8 team (Browns) has already been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs; another (49ers) could be in first place after the weekend. A 7-6 team (Dolphins) has to win out while hoping another team lose all three of their remaining games just to make it as a #6 seed; another 7-6 team (Chargers) could end up as the #3 seed.

I agree jmt, Saints vs Ravens even affects the AFC greatly. I dont think the Jets have a chance against the steelers, to me thats just common sense, sorry. So, the Ravens have to win. Lets see how good we are.

Terrible. Bad play call, bad blocking, and bad vision from Dixon.

The 49ers are pitiful!I actually thought we would see a game and now i dont think so.
