Not just saying this as a Pats fan, but I really don't think Rodgers should suit up Sunday. Even IF he does and the Packers somehow beat us, there's a good chance the Packers are still on the outside looking in on the playoff picture, with games against NYG and Chicago still to come. The team has a ridiculous amount of injuries and no run game. Just not worth the risk in a year where you figure is just not their year. He's the next 10 years of your franchise, this is one game.

Not just saying this as a Pats fan, but I really don't think Rodgers should suit up Sunday. I would disagree. Rodgers gives us a better chance to win, and a win on Sunday probably means, if you win your next two, you're in the playoffs. If they go 3-0 they're practically ensured a playoff spot and if they go 2-1 they're still likely to get in (with head to head tie-breakers over Giants and Eagles). The Giants are a tough team, but most Packer fans think they should be able to beat the Giants at Lambeau. And the Bears... well I don't think are for real (way too many lucky breaks this year), and a loss to Minnesota this weekend would put the division back in Green Bay's control... even with a Packer loss to the Patriots. Many fans around here are freaking out about the loss to the Lions (eckkk!), but the fact is they're still very much in the mix. Technically if the season ended today they'd be out, but many of the teams in front of them have to play each other (Giants-Eagles, Bucs-Saints)

Well, I am glad to hear a Packer fan perspective of it, because I was curious what you guys thought of the situation. If Rodgers does play and you're able to beat the Pats, Giants, and Bears then more power to you. I just feel like this year has been more competitive than years' past, you have so many teams in the NFC that are 9-4 or better plus the 'freebie' slot aka the 4th seed for the winner of the NFC west which will ****block one deserving team, combined with the Packers injuries this year. It's a very tough road ahead. Doesn't mean I'd be willing to throw in the red flag or anything.... but it is the guy's 2nd recent concussion and I would be extremely concerned about putting him out there one week after. Roethlisberger was in a similiar spot last year, I can't remember if he passed his tests or not but he was held out of a key divisional game @ Baltimore, despite his own teammate Hines Ward criticizing him for not playing. Anyways best of luck to your team, it's very impressive the way they've competed despite all the injuries. Also your team has been alot more likeable for me since a certain attention whore left town

About the Bears being lucky, it's strange because I thought that in both their previous big years in 2001 and 2006, they seemed like a very lucky team those years, too. Maybe it's just me but they're the only team that I can really remember like that over multiple seasons.

True. There are so few good young franchise QBs that Rogers is indeed a gem. When you filter out all the mediot BS about the Henne's, Sanchezes and other ESPN favs there are only a few young real deals like Matty Ice, Rogers and maybe Flacco and 2-3 others soon to be.

The League shuould make it mandatory for playings who sustain concussions not play the following week. Packerfan ones a player sustain a concussion it could have a ligering effect on them. The Colts WR Austin Colley sustainded a concussion the week before they played us. After he was tackled he had to leave the game you could see that he was out of it case and point*ligering effect*. I will gurantee than DT/DE Ron Brace will not suit up Sunday Night *recent concussion victim*. Think of the Players long range health over short term success. BIG Mistake if the Packers start Rodgers Sunday Night. Don't think BB will not send a few Blitzes after him to see if Rodgers have any cobwebs.

In terms of the up and comers, Rodgers is the guy. Have you seen his career QB rating? Anyway, I'm sure we'll see him in the 2011 or 2012 superbowls.

I really, really hope for his sake that he doesn't play. I'm not saying this because it gives the pats a better chance to win but only because I don't want him hurt. He seems like a good guy with a great future and this is only 1 game. I've had 2 concussions in my life and the second left permanent damage. It is not a good feeling, I will never feel the same again.

I know that's not what the packers fans want to hear because they still have a shot, but I seriously hope the doctors don't clear him.

There's no way a brain injury heals in a week, and unhealed brain injuries make you prone to more brain injuries. It is cataclysmically stupid for him to play this week.

On Friday morning, McCarthy seemed to erase any doubt that Flynn will get the call while speaking on his weekly radio show.

“[Flynn's] had a good week of practice, and this is always a big hurdle for a quarterback when he gets his first start,” McCarthy said via Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “This is something he’ll really benefit from. He’s actually put together two good days of practice. I’m impressed with the way he has thrown the ball.”

Greg A. Bedard of the Boston Globe — who made a Danny Woodhead-like in-season move to the Patriots beat — says he’s been “hearing all week” the Packers knew Rodgers wouldn’t play.

We’ll see if McCarthy officially makes the call when he meets with the media later Friday. Rodgers hasn’t even participated in any team meetings this week, much less practice.

The problem with such a policy is that it encourages players to hide concussions, because the penalty in playing time for a minor concussion is too great. I'd rather get the players out of the game immediately and then make them pass neurological tests to get back the next week as is being done now.

Talk about being overly dramatic. Not to mention, his first concussion was not 4 weeks ago, it was 10 weeks ago in week 5.
