So Branch was rather quietly held out of practice today with a knee injury. Did anyone see him get dinged up in the game? Do we assume this happened in practice?

Obviously not much news now but bears monitoring. The last time he was nicked up he was ineffective for a couple games. Hopefully a Pats win & Pitt loss allow BB to rest some key dinged up guys and we can get him healthy for the playoffs.

But unfortunately, a guy with Branch's injury history, you can't just brush off these types of things. The good news is it looks like Edelman is fully healthy and has his 2009 burst back, so maybe he gets more reps.

I don't think he was held out, just limited. Vets day without having to say so, IMO.

Branch was availble to the media after the game and even did the presser. I don't want to make any predictions but usually injured players are kept away from the media.

A bit worried, as last time he got nicked up he disappeared for a game or two. But the timing of this is at least better than it could have been. Better that this occur now than the divisional weekend.

That's what I'm thinking. Barring some luck, after Sunday night the Pats might not be playing in a meaningful game for a month giving guys plenty of time to rest up.

If we win the next 2, I think we get the top-seed? If so, the Bills game, they can rest folks like Welker, Branch, and possibly, Brady.

Then, they will have a bye-week and be ready for the playoffs...

IMO.

Which is a bad idea. Let them play till about the 2nd half in the last game then rest them. 3 week byes throw players off rhythm. And we can clinch homefield with a win and a Steelers loss. And we can clinch a first round bye with a win. So lets gooo.

Maybe his hamstring infected his knee.

Nicked up is now a medical diagnosis? (Kontra ha ha)

Eh, with the way the Patriots keep their injuries a secret, it's the best word that can be used being that you don't know just how much Branch is hurt.

My point is, hamstrings and knees are actual separate injuries.

Tyrone wheatley might be one human who's bones are so brittle anything could break if bumped into, so maybe he gets nicks, but most injuries are actual physical events.

In Branch's case, past serious knee problems could be a concern, while hamstrings are common with receivers and RBs and make it hard to run fast if not allowed to heal.

I disagree. Branch was gone four years and it was like he never left. I think he can handle himself coming off four weeks rest just fine. ;)

That's a helluva concussion that Wright got.

Evidently there's a good chance his children and their children will be BORN with concussions.

I think it is clear he did not return to the Patriots as quick and shifty as he left.

But he is making up for it with just smart football and clutch hands

He will be fine

He better be ok.I was so wrong on Branch. The guy still has some game left.It would be nice to get another wr out there just in case.
