Many good choices- #1 is amazing

#3 is incredible too, and my choice. I thought that in playing so many rookies and second year guys we would be living with the "growing pains" all year and would have do deal constantly with screw-ups.

It's gotta be The Dev man. He's blown my mind like a psychedelic trip man. Dev man.. Dev Dev Dev!

I went with the running game. If you said before the season that Pats would be going with two unheralded undrafted free agents (one who got cut by the Jets right before the start of the season) as RBs that the Pats , most of us would think the Pats would be throwing 80% of the time or more. Right now, BJGE and Woodhead are doing better than the combination of Tomlinson and Shonn Greene. No one in the world would have expected that especially after the first month of the season.

Devin McCourty has been such a great draft pick, it's unreal. And to think people here were bashing Belichick when it happened. If he wasn't on this team, it would be 2009's secondary all over again. Remember the Pats/Saints game? We'd have seen that maybe 8 times already without McCourty.

Guess who is smarter than everyone on this website? BILL F*CKING BELICHICK. Get over yourselves and embrace it.

I feel like Rex Ryan at a candy buffet. I can't choose just one.

I'll go with my man Welker's amazing comeback.

I don't think McCourty was much of a surprise. They guy was a shutdown CB in college. He had the potential in this league. I think he is progressing faster than I thought, but I always thought he could be special.

I also thought Welker had the potential to be close to 100% right away. I knew Brady could be flawless. I had faith in the o-line. I knew Belichick could plug in role players and make them produce. I thought the young defense would pull it together around midseason.

I guess my being called a blind homer in the preseason is paying off now.

I voted "other" so I could say all of the above. Who'd a thunk that all of these good things would happen this year, let alone one or two of them!! What a great season it's been so far! Hopefully we keep it going right to the end.

yeah but college and the NFL are totally different. Honestly, i'm suprised with this whole season and how this team has saficed.

To be the biggest improvement from my perspective is the return to our offensive roots. I used to hate when we were 3-and-2 and came out in a five-wide shotgun formation. It was even worse when we constantly ran the draw from the shotgun. It always looked like a broken play and usually worked as well.

A close 2nd is BJGE and Woody.

I can't believe this isn't up there but the loss of Randy Moss and acquiring Deion Branch and the team improving significantly because of it.

The biggest suprise this season is being 11-2 and having Hey Bro! What up? not showing up with "insightful" commentary.

Captain Stone, however, just can't resist.

I'm going with Lawfirm and Woody. McCourty is awesome and he's a very close 2nd. But a lot of people had Lawfirm getting cut. I don't think anyone(including me) though he would continue to be a force after a 100 yard game vs buffalo. And a lot of people were thinking "Who?" when pats picked up Woody.

It has to be number 3.

Rookies, 2nd year players and UDFA are not supposed to play like that in this universe.

Thought you'd have offense and defense and I am thrilled with the new improved balanced offense, but ecstaticly discombobulated about the come from nowhere, one top veteran, defense.

So I'd go for the defense.

None of these as individual developments are that startling. All of them in one season is just amazing. "Other"

Rookie TE's production should have been an option...i don't think see we say that coming. Gronk and Hernandez are going to be a fearsome duo for years to come.

Running game, without lawfirm and woody we'd not be balanced!

Tough choice. I had to go with McCourty though. He has turned what was a huge vulnerability into a strength which also helps with the lack of a consistent and effective pass-rush.
