Interesting from Rapoport:

"Ya know, Caserio seemed a little lukewarm on DL Eric Moore today, too. That was surprising. Maybe he goes..."

Well, now Rapoport tweets:

"
I think Moore stays. Caserio said "It’s been 1 game. He’s made the most of (chances)." Things change in a hurry on a week-to-week basis.
"

Turns out that he actually had a workout with the Pats last Saturday before the Pats took off for Chicago.

BTW - Kid is 6'4 5/8" tall.. 320 lbs (give or take)..

Kid is a run-stuffer more than a pass rusher..

Wouldn't shock me, personally - we gave Crable a similar "audition" in the Pittsburgh, and the results looked similarly decent on paper. But on the film, they must've had problems with his technique, effort, etc.

True but Moore accomplished more in 20 snaps than Crable did in 3 years.

I just signed this guy in Madden to the Pats not two days ago, to be Vince's backup. I have Brace at DE. I can read Belichick's mind.

But who did you cut that's what we want to know?

Also, FYI, Brace rates much higher at DT than DE on Madden. I know I should leave it as-is, but I moved Cunningham to DE and he's a star in the making.

If Wright or Pryor are not IR'd maybe Ohrnberger or Clayton go. Ohrnberger is behind Wendell and Ojinnaka with the Pats also having G Austin on PS, and although a T Maneri is also on PS so the numbers are there OL wise. With Clayton we seem to be carrying one RB too many with an eye towards the future w/Morris and Faulk having expiring contracts after this season.

Even though he has been signed, there hasn't been a roster move.. yet... Reiss says Caserio hinted that there might be some roster movements soon.
Unless I missed something, there HAS to be a roster move today, you can't just sign a guy and not put him on the 53. (I don't believe he is is eligible for the PS.)

Do you want to tel Rappy they play two different positions, or should I? 330 lbs is 3-4 D Line. 268 is de/olb.

Good points. We have some flexibility.

I jumped the gun. He hasn't signed yet- I misread the original news release, but I decided not to revise the original post because he's passed his physical and who wouldn't want to sign with a 11-2, red hot team? :)

what the patriots have done on the D-line this year has been pretty impressive, they have alot of rotations specifically built for situations.

you look at guys like brace, deaderick and pryor and they are just really big guys who crash the line and eat up alot of blockers, they are also pretty good at protecting mayo so he can make a tackle, it sucks that spikes is out because i feel like a good running team can exploit his absense, but the final teams we face arent really that great at running inside anyway, so it isnt that big of a deal.

watch the D-line in one of their games, the patriots linemen are so big that they can beat most blockers 1 on 1 and have done well enough shedding blocks that they make a tackle too, as well as they are doing, it really makes you wonder how much they really need another elite 5 technique like Seymour.

more likely someone joins the IR party bus.

Please God don't let it be McCourty, please.

They said McCourty was okay and the injury wasnt that bad. He may miss one game but thats for precautions going foward. He's fine.

Interesting, but not really deserving of it's own thread...

AdamSchefter To help replace injured first-round pick Brandon Graham, the Eagles will sign former Patriots LB Derrick Burgess today.

are you joking not deserving of its own thread, of course it is. I'd take critical Patriots news over quotes from the JETS message boards any day.
I was angry very few Pats fans new anything about Moore until his game in Chicago.

Yeah, Eric Moore should have been on everyone's radar...heh :bricks:

32 teams x 53 plus PS.....+ waived players not resigned = beacoup

Eric Moore wasn't significant in most fan's eyes, including mine...

NEVER HEARD OF HIM.......

that's why BB has Caserio and scouts....

Sounds like one of Wright or Pryor might be headed to the IR. Out of the two, I would rather have Wright back by playoff time. Says Leonard is 6'4", 325 lbs. and is good against the run. If he picks the system back up quickly enough (played for RAC in Cleveland), he might be a valuable body to have on the D-Line against teams that have strong power running games. Especially with Brace dinged up.
