Ayers has a good balance of rushing the passer and the ability to
to cover in space. He has good size 6'4 250 and he doesnt seem to
be a project like Robert Quinn would be.

1.B J.J Watt DE, UW

Great size and great motor. Watt is a strong guy who not only can
help in pass rushing but in stopping the run.

2.A Gabe Carimi, UW

Pick up a LT like Carimi early, sign Light and have him learn under a
vet and Scar for about a year and i believe we'll have a pretty damn good
tackle to replace light

2.b Ben Ijalana OG, Villa

Big long armed offensive lineman. Hes a small school prospect but honestly
he has alot of upside and potential under Scar.

3.A Davon House CB, NMS

What?! A corner in the 3rd round?...yes i went there and its so we have
competition behind Bodden and MC.

3.B Mark Herzlich OLB, BC

Great story great character and im pullin for em. A BB player

A lot of good picks. Watt, Carimi, House, and Lainhart are some of my favorites also.

Not sure Ayers is a real good fit.

Herzlich would translate to more of an ILB in this defense. That position is pretty well stocked, it would be a good spot for a RB.

Overall one of the better mocks I have seen.

I understand where your coming from but when looking at a player
I tend to look for a guy who will be solid on every down. I mean hes
Good in coverage and can set the edge and he isnt absolutely terrible
at pass rushing. So project with only known upside is passing downs? Or solid 3 down player in every aspect of the game. Ill take the 3 down player.

Well thanks for the input! But ya i was thinking RB there also.
The only reason i didnt pick one is because i mean look at our
backfield now. The main duo are UDFA why cant we get another
just look for a hardworker there again and just get a vet FA. But
i wouldnt be surprised to see a runningback picked if they were
sure about him.

I don't like Ayers. The times I've seen him, his motor seemed less than optimal. I'd much rather get 3-4 OLB Justin Houston. Although, probably not at 1a. Also, I very much agree with your philosophy of avoiding a DE/OLB conversion project early.

If we came away with Watt _and_ Carimi in the first two rounds I would be doing the mother of all happy dances. IMO our draft would be a major success even if all we took were those two. I think, from the first minicamp, Watt will be reminding us of Richard Seymour. Although I see Carimi as a (stud) RT. With Vollmer taking over for Light.

I don't know much about Ijalana, but I totally hate taking OGs that early. Dante has proven again and again he can turn almost anyone with the right attitude and decent size into a quality OG. Besides, I prefer taking OCs instead of OGs. Just generally speaking they tend to be more versatile and talented than OGs.

I hate to say it, and I pray I don't jinx him. But I don't want Herzlich. His medical history concerns the hell out of me. He's a great story and I hope he continues to be for a long, healthy life. But he's too risky for me. Here I might want to take an RB like Delone Carter, Syracuse to team with Law Firm and Woody. So we can let Taylor and Morris retire. I'm also interested in RB Vai Taua, Nevada. But not till later rounds.

No thanks on Marecic for me. Our offense doesn't use a dedicated FB, and we're set for H-back types (Hernandez). Let the reserve OLs do the FB duties and save roster space. Here I might want a DE/OLB project like Brooks Reed, Arizona.

I don't recall seeing House or Lainart so I can't comment that much. But I do like the idea of getting extra talent at those positions.

Absolutely love this guy. I wanted him in my draft but didnt wanna pick a corner too high. Hes very instinctive and pretty built for a corner and doesnt mind getting physical. He doesnt have crazy athleticism but maybe he could be a FS like a Jarious Byrd(SP) type

LOVE Carter too! (insert my ex-Orange(man) bias alert here) He has been hurt, but is a very, very tough downhill runner. Houston might be a great fit at OLB. I was trying to tell everyone last year to draft Williams from Syracuse last year and Blount from Oregon, but noooooooooooooooo, nobody listens to me (except the Bucs)....

Nice take on all the mocks here.

As the season has changed, so has my opinion on our top pick. Most of that is because of the status of the pick changing as Oakland continues to pull out wins.

At the top of my list in this draft is Ryan Kerrigan. He's very likely to be available between 10-15, and has the production, strength, first step, and arsenal to be a special player for us. I've read all the articles and watched all the video on him and he's becoming my personal fave in the entire draft so far.

I like several of the top O-line guys, and think this team could definitely use at least one.

Herzlich is a guy I like a lot because of his ability and his makeup. From what I've read, he's a great locker room presence and a leader on the field. I like our inside 'backers, especially since Guyton, Mayo, and Spikes have all been productive, but Mark might be a guy who could transition inside and out for us, and save some wear and tear on Mayo.
