We will be the first folks to call him out when he misses a big FG but Im getting more confidence in him when he steps up there to kick a FG.

I know his kickoffs are lacking and he hasnt been asked to kick anything real long yet (long 41) but has he missed for us yet(edit:just checked 8 for 8 so far)?

The Gost used to piss me off missing Fgs in big games(jets game earlier this year), Im liking what I see so far, conditions were bad yesterday and he looked on point.

Gost only had a long of 43 and was 10/13 when he got hurt.

Well to be fair Graham never took a FG attempt of over 40 yards in that game though did he? And he did miss the extra point. Luckily it was a blowout game so that 1 point didn't make a difference. But just ask the Redskins what a huge difference one point can make. Graham has been performing well though, so I'll give him credit for what he's doing. I'm not sure I 'trust him' with the game on the line yet. But sometimes that's what you've got to do with your kickers. That's why you have them. Those 3 pts can be very valuable when the offense has stalled. 3 is better than 0.

That would be 2 missed XPs this season, IIRC—one more than Gostkowski's had in his entire career.

Well, he did miss an extra point.

To be fair, the extra point he missed was after the TD just before the half on the play where the O was supposed to be kneeling. The guy was probably half way into the locker room when he got called in for a PAT. I wonder if he had been warming up or anything.

If the Patriots had started the season with Graham as their kicker, I'd be pretty dismayed at his performance. But given that they had to scramble for a mid-season replacement in a year when kickers seem to be dropping like flies, I feel lucky to have what he gives us.

His judgement of wind conditions for the 1st FG were excellent.

Agree...both Graham and Suisham (in Pittsburgh) have looked good, the rest of the "replacement" kickers have been hit or miss.... and mostly miss.

I doubt he wasn't prepared, but the first miss was his first or second PAT try in months. The second miss the wind just took it away.

That's true, but has there been a better replacement kicker then him this year?

If not for Gostkowski's excellent Kick Offs, Graham would be a better overall kicker.

Stump is doing okay I guess.

I don't think Graham is that good. He cannot kick the ball out the endzone on kick offs. He still misses some "automatic" field goals.

I mean, if a playoff game is on-the-line, will he be able to kick a winning goal?

I just hope the Patriots score enough to NOT get into that situation.

Graham's been solid, agreed, but what's with the jabs at Ghost? He struggled in his first two games, going 1 for 4, but was 9 for 9 since. He clearly turned it around and was playing well before he got injured.

And his missed kick against the Jets wasn't why we lost that game. He missed it on the first series, we still ended up taking the lead 7-0, and led at halftime 14-10. We lost because we got completely shut out the second half, outscored 18-0. Let it go.

Is this a joke? Gostkowski is a way better, way more reliable kicker. Graham's two shanks on extra points did not help my faith in him.

Eh? Are you serious here? Gostkowski is way better than Graham, it's not even close.

Isn't Shayne Graham the most accurate kicker ever at the Steeler's stadium, and also one of the most accurate kickers overall in NFL history?

He's very solid at his job, I have no doubts in using him in a big situation. I really don't see any major difference from Ghost except for kickoffs.
