They showed Brian Urlacher being interviewed after the game and he said that the PATRIOTS ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFL!!! :rocker:

Gotta give the man credit. He humbly ate his previous words..

How quickly tunes change after games are played

I didn't think what he said previously was "trash talk" but he definitely manned up and gave the team credit. Respect Mr. Urlacher.

And then he said, "I don't know what I was talking about." meaning he was wrong about what he said earlier in the week. Good of him to own up but damn, why don't they learn?

Well, that's all the confirmation I need. :p

I hate to use the word classy because, this being a football forum, it's WAY over used, but when the Bears play the Pats I think the teams respect one another. You see people tackling and blocking without trying to injure and you see opponents helping one another up after a play.

Best response to Urlacher's comment is, "Thank you!"

What the hell else could he say. I give him no credit.

He could have said a number of things that some whiners around the league would say. "They ran up the score on us!" "We beat ourselves" "The weather made us play poorly"

The hell with Urlacher, what's the difference between him and Rex Ryan? They both ran their mouth and were forced to eat their words. I don't get the need to give him any credit. Give credit to his 52 teammates who decided not to proclaim themselves the better team before the game was played.

The guy owned up to his mistake, and he gets respect for that. Most players wouldn't even address it.

Right, lets congratulate him for not doubling down on stupid.

What did he say except that he thought his team was good?

Nah, urlacher's trash talk is out of respect...Rex's on the other hand was pure arrogance.

Rex was eating a double meat hogie when offered his respect mea culpa

“New England is the best team in the NFL, record-wise,” Urlacher said. “But I feel like we’re the best team, period. That’s why I say record-wise. They have the best quarterback, numbers-wise. And everybody likes to go by numbers, right?”

Dude - you are equating loudmouth Rex with Urlacher?? Give me a break, Urlacher didn't say anything that bad against us in that PC you are thinking about. He is certainly among the more restrained (in terms of speech) and well admired/respected player.

That said, I don't give a damn about what he thinks about us.

I just want our players to continue this media ballwashing and instead have this redhot focus until we hold the SB, at which time I don't mind a fumble. :)

If you go back and look/hear Urlacher's comments, they're benign. Some of the media took one sentence and tried to sell some newspapers with it. In my opinion all he was saying was the same thing any competitive athlete would say, that he was confidence in his team. I didn't see anything bad in what he said - and I certainly did not see anything disrespectful with his post-game comments.

The other team has a better record, but I think we are better. Hardly trash talk. Then, after the contest, he concedes that the other team was better. I guess you would prefer all teams abide by the Patriots Way? I'm OK with that, but what he said is OK too.

It amazes me how some people on here get butthurt because of a little comment by a player. "OH THATS BULLETIN BOARD MATERIAL :singing:"

Urlacher thought his team was better, they lost, and he praised the Pats. Yeah, what a jerk this guy is.

Get a grip.
