It may sound silly but I am so proud of this team after that performance. It was always going to be a tough game, and the weather made it even harder. After the highs of last week many players (especially in that weather) may have not "been at the races". A truly great, gutsy performance that showed our true character!!

Just hoping McCourty isn't badly hurt..we just don't need any further injuries

Absolutely.

No let down after the jets game, and a great performance in Chicago.

The guys are looking good...at the right time.,..

I am guessing they probably won't....cause of the score....but you never know...

Can't say enough about this win. So impressed with how well rounded this team is. It would be an easy spot for the Pats to lay down and blame the weather...but no. The offense comes out in 5 wide and throws into the teeth of 30 mph the wind and runs the ball down the throat of one of the best NFC defenses. Meanwhile the defense, minus Spikes, smashes the Chicago offense in the mouth and continues to force turnovers.

Another big win on the road against a quality team. You know, this team starting to make me a believer.:D

Pats beat the Bears in Chicago.

Let's hear your post-game thoughts on the Pats offense versus the Chicago defense here.

Re: **The official Patriots vs Bears POST game thread**

Excellent game CBS switched to the Jets but I lucked out and found it on another channel.... SD but better than nothing. Go Pats

Considering CBS even cut away from the game early in the third because we were killing them, I doubt it gets replayed on NFLN.

You can probably find a torrent of it though in a day or so. Usually torrents are split up by half. If you want to save time, just download the first half since the game was over after that :singing:

Re: **The official Patriots vs Bears POST game thread**

Love the way Brady keeps quoting BB. "Like our coach says, it's the Bears that are our opponent, not the weather." He started that theme in the off-season when he talked about listening to the coach more.

What a game -- 350+ yards passing against that D in that weather.

Pats crush the Bears in the snow in Chicago.

Post your thoughts, opinions and analysis here.

Re: **The official Patriots vs Bears POST game thread**

This offense is clicking on all cylinders right now. A little sloppy in the second half and the coverage teams need some work, but it was an overall impressive win against a quality team with a good defense in bad weather in hostile territory. I'll take it any day of the week.

Re: **The official Patriots vs Bears POST game thread**

there did not appear to be any adjustments as to a snow game other than the gear they wear.

The Patriots came out and ran their offense

... nice to see they feel great confidence to do that ... oh ... and it worked. :D

The damn power went out in my whole neighborhood right after the game started and came back on with 4 minutes left in the game. I am still flipping out right now and punching walls.:deadhorse::violent::cry2:

Pats beat Bears 36-7 - Chicago Sun-Times
The Bears forced a three-and-out to start the game, with Brian Urlacher taking down Tom Brady for a third-down sack.

But then the Bears got KO’d the remainder of the half, giving up 33 consecutive points, the most at home since 1958.

Everything went wrong for the Bears Sunday, when they looked ill prepared for the blustery conditions at Soldier Field. When the game mattered, in the first half, the defense allowed 273 yards, 33 points and six-of-nine third-down conversions; the offense generated just 33 net yards; and the special teams was outplayed by the Patriots.

The most embarrassing play was on the final play of the half, when cornerback Charles Tillman was beaten by Patriots receiver Deion Branch for a 59-yard touchdown.

How bad was the game?

Fans started filing out of the stadium during the second quarter, and the stadium appeared half-empty in the second half. And CBS, in most markets, switched to another game with about 11 minutes remaining in the third quarter.

When does the extend Matt katula thread get made ... :D

Re: Official Pats-Bears Post-Game Thread - Defense & Special Teams

I figure this is a good place for me to respond to Curious George..

Chicago has one of the best Run D's in the NFL. And the last time I checked, the Patriots didn't have Adrian Peterson who was OWNED by the Bears earlier this year.

Pats put up 108 rushing yards with Woodhead and Green-Ellis on 28 carries.. I won't mention Taylor's runs since he was in garbage time.

CuriousGeorge said:
Cutler has a stronger arm than Brady. He has experience playing in Soldier Field and Brady does not. It doesn't matter if the Patsies have been told to take "small, choppy steps" as previously mentioned by a New England poster. Until the Patriots play in full game speed against Peppers and Co. it does not matter what they have been told...
Well, I think it's safe to say that, while Cutler has a stronger arm, he's just not that good. 12/26 and 2 ints... Not to mention the Fumble..

CuriousGeorge said:
Tom Brady is too pretty to walk into those conditions and survive Soldier Field. He is prettier and more dainty than my Girlfriend and she is 5 foot 2 with a body like Kelly Ripa Small waist and...

Looks like Brady survived and then some. The same can't be said about Cutler.

CuriousGeorge said:
Yeah run your mouth talking about those 3-4 defenses. They have nothing on Lovie's Cover 2.

Ok.. I can give Lovie's Cover 2 some credit.. It has the distinction of giving up more points in a single half to the Patriots than either the Steelers or the Jets.... It also has the distinction of giving up more total yards of offense (475) than any other team the Pats have faced this year. Great job..

CuriousGeorge said:
Your defense is ranked dead last, right?
Nope. It was ranked 2nd to last before this game in terms of yards allowed. Thanks to the Bears and Cutler, I think they actually are going to move up to about 24th or so, we'll know after Monday's game. And they just held you to 7 points while putting up 36 on your #2 ranked defense...

As you were told, the Pats defense has just started to hit it's stride.

re: Official Pats-Bears POST Game Thread

Doesn't make up for it.....but it sure feels friggin' good:1985..."Revenge is a dish, best served cold":eat3:

Re: Official Pats-Bears Post-Game Thread - Defense & Special Teams

Four turnovers.

Two picks off Cutler passes.

Are we still going to hear about how bad this 31st worst defense is next week - especially with another good quarterback going against the Pats next week?

Bears had all of 42 plays from scrimmage.
Chicago had just 185 yards.
Matt Forte averaged 2.5 yards per carry.
Bears rushed for a total of 47 yards.
Less than five yards per pass attempt.

About the only negative I can come up with is on the coverage of the Pats special teams, but it's really difficult to find anything wrong with this game as a fan of the Pats.
