Any thoughts on how the Patriots will do in the last 4 games?

I suspect that they will lose to the Bears and then run the table.

There are a lot of factors working against them this Sunday but after that it should be a lot easier. The Packers are not easy but it will be at home and they may be in a foul mood after getting beat up by the Bears.

In the playoffs (actually in the SB if they get that far) they may get another shot at the Bears and will fare a lot better.

One game at a time, but I agree that this is the most reaspinable projection.

Ah that one-game-at-a-time mantra is strictly for the players. Us fans can speculate and make crazy predictions as much as we want ;)

This is the whole point (OK not the entire point) of such blogs especially when it gets near to draft time. However is this also an exciting time of year where it is interesting to speculate what they have to do to get the Bye.

If the Patriots do get a Bye then it gets a lot easier...depending on who they face (they do not want to face Baltimore or The Colts---Pittsburgh would be about perfect)

They are better than every team left on the schedule. They should win them all.
The Tampa2 has never been able to stop Brady, and the last time the Pats faced Cutler, they destroyed him.

Depends....

If the Patriots clinch the division week 16 than 3-1, with a loss to Mia.

If the Jets win the next 3, than 4-0.

Agree. Agree. Agree. Agree.... But, the weather and the bad turf (with which the Bears at least have some familiarity) and a string of intense, emotional wins all concern me as "equalizers." I know the Pats have flourished in bad weather at home and on the road, owning the Steelers at Heinz in sub-zero cold as an example. I just think if they're gonna let down and lose a game going in, this is the week for it to happen, in that they're not going to lose in Foxboro or to a Division rival. Hope I'm wrong.

3-1

I could see them losing to Chicago or Green Bay and then beating Buffalo and Miami.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go 4-0 though.

3-1 with the loss coming to either the Peckers or the Douchefins.

As much as I would like the Pats to win the last four and finish 14-2 - really good things have happened when they finish with that record - I'm guessing there will be one more loss, even though the Pats will be favored in each of the last four games. It's just really tough for any team to win eight (or eleven) in a row, whether it be because the team is outplayed, a bad bounce, a missed tackle, or some fluke play.

They win out.
What have you seen lately that would cause you to doubt them?

3-1, with the loss to either the Bears or Dolphins. I seriously think we will blow the Packers out.

The season-ending winning streaks for the Pats' championship teams, including playoffs...

2001 - 9
2003 - 15
2004 - 5

2010 Current - 4
2010 Potential - 11 (Double super-duper extra knock on wood/no jinx)

While 4-0 seems achievable, it isn't necessary provided the Pats lock up the #1 seed. Both the Bears and Packers are great teams, and the Bills and Phins are division opponents who will likely play the Pats tough, despite their modest records. Therefore, anything can happen down the stretch. All IMHO.

4-0.
  • Win this week clinches playoff spot and Belichick has Cutler's number.
  • Packers at Home: Quite winnable.
  • Bills on the road... kinda hard to say, but I think the Pats win based on history.
  • Miami at home: Weather, momentum, streak.

I think going 4-0 is key to a deep playoff push.

Win out, enter the playoffs coming off a bye and an 8-game win streak.

LMAO @ the Pats don't want to face the Colts comment. I'd love to see the Colts in January. I would also love another shot @ the Ravens as well.

The Packers IMO are the best of what's left on the schedule. I could see the Pats losing that one. But, it is at Gillette so we win out.

We go 0-4 and Belichick plans this winless streak just so he can go into the playoffs as the #6 seed and face the #3 Jets and embarrass them again

I think it's possible for them to win out. This team is really starting to gel and just put forth its most complete effort yet. But they do face a couple of tough teams plus 2 division rivals in the upcoming week so it would be understandable to see 3-1 over the remainder of the schedule.

Laugh all you want but the Patriots do not match up well against explosive pass offenses...although the Dolts are no longer that. The Patriots match up well against the power teams like the Stealers.

I don't see how the Patriots can go 4-0. The worst problem will be the Bears tomorrow but Miami and Buffalo will want to play to spoiler role and the Packers are no pushover. However that being said if the Patriots can somehow find a way to beat the Bears then the whole spoiler issue may be moot.

Not at all. If the Pats lose to either Miami or Bills with the Jets going 4-0, then they will play spoiler as the Jets will then win the division. OTOH, if NE loses to the Bears and win the other three then NE will likely be the division winner.
