Man, I hate that phrase. SO tired of reading it and hearing it. It really diminishes what this high-powered offense accomplishes.

Someone on this board MUST be able to come up with a better phrase. I'll offer up "Zip and Zap."

But I know there HAS to be something better out there. Anyone?

Concur, Dink and Dunk is an absurd term. Since when did it cease to become a QB's job to move the ball down the field with precision and rather instead to just sling it. There's no correlation between passing yards and success. Our offense is the most efficient in the history of the game thus far (football outsiders)...I'll take it.

I'd call it "Death by a thousand cuts"

From a recent blog

The thinking was summed up by quarterback Tom Brady after the Patriots reacquired Deion Branch, a stalwart receiver from the last time the Patriots played like this.

“If it’s dink-and-dunk and score touchdowns, I’m fine with dinking and dunking,” Brady said.

I like "slice and dice".

"completion after completion"

If Brady said so, I like it too... Just win.. i don't care how :)

"Chinese Water Torture"

27 TDs/4 INTs.... I like the dink and dunk just fine!

Reminds me of my dad. That was always his description of the Pats circa Bledsoe. Sadly he died in 1999 and never got to see the greatness we've achieved.

dink, dunk and win....who cares how it sounds If Brady doesnt care why should we?

When the 49ers did it, it was called the West Coast Offense.
When TFB and the MFPatriots do it, it's called dink and dunk.

in fact i want to know what other teams are not dink and dunk and are throwing 60 yard passes.

I like "slice and dice".

Winner!

OK, now that that's out of the way, who cares. We are perfectly capable of going to the house with Branch or Tate anytime we want. Constant long passing is way overrated, it's for high light.

I don't think i need to mention that an over reliance on long passes (ahem) makes defensing easier come playoffs.

Tate has room to improve, but Branch is really the perfect receiver for our system, he does it all.

Unfortunately the term 'dink and dunk' is not going to disappear. It's a derogatory term used by fans of opposing teams in an attempt to diminish the success of the Patriots in general, and Brady in particular. As long as the Pats keep winning that segment of opposing fans will keep repeating it.

Try to look at it this way: if those opposing fans are still using the term then that means the Pats are under their skin - which means the Pats are not only still relevant, they are successful. When those same fans stop talking about the Pats and trying to put them down, that's when you'll know we have problems.

its also a term which mediots use to explain what the pats are doing without star players which basically means they cant explain how they are doing so lets just say "dink and dunk" or "brady is a game manager" ..IMO

Throw and complete.
