To review the past few days....

1. The Patriots won.
2. The Jets lost.
3. Both 1 & 2 occured in the same game.
4. On national TV
5. In a total blow out.
6. Rex Ryan blames the loss on the coin toss decision.
7. And buries the football.
8. Jets whine about the Pats running up the score.
9. The Giants agree to let the Dolphins use their practice facilities.
10. Which causes Jet fans heads to explode
11. The voice of the Colts radio (their equivlant of Gil Santos) calls for Peyton to be benched and a new QB to be drafted next year.

Like I mentioned in another post, this is ALMOST too much Schadenfreude for one week. ALMOST...but not quite. :D

Now we have to forget it all and focus on a win in Chicago! That would be the icing on the cake this week.

Here is the great thing about being a fan. I don't have to. I can spend from now until 4 pm on Sunday relishing the win over the stinking Jest.

BB, TB, WW, DW, etc. THEY need to focus on getting ready for the Bears. My prep work for getting ready for the Bears involves getting some beer from the grocery store. I can procrastinate that until Sunday morning if I want to.

I am gonna enjoy this win all week. I refuse to focus on the next game until some time Sunday morning. This win was just too great to move on from.

its been a good week....

You guys sound like Jets fans, this is your superbowl.

For me its all about a big win but its just a big win. It doesn't mean anything if they don't go out and win the remaining games.

does it get better? are we jets fans or patriots fans? Was this really our SB? NOT!

Yes, it can get lots better. The game could have clinched the division, the conference championship or been a SB win.

It does mean something. It was a win. A win worth celebrating. Like all our wins.

I think a lot of Patriots fans blew the 2007 season. Completely wasted it. Instead of having 18 parties -- one after each and every amazing win -- they immediately moved on to the next game. Waiting and delaying the having a party until the very end. And that party never came.

That's not for me. I celebrate and relish every regular win. And ones over hated divisional rivals I celebrate extra special. I may or may not have a party in February. But I am not gonna wait until then. I am gonna take each opportunity to be happy as they come. So far there has been 10 reasons to celebrate. But #10 has certainly been the best so far.

clearly we will all agree that a super bowl win would be much, much better, but honestly i'm not sure even an average playoff win would feel this sweet.

CLEARLY a playoff LOSS would be much, much worse than if we had lost on monday but i'm going to be honest, i haven't felt this high off a win in years. probably since the chargers blowout back in 07. and honestly, that wasn't this good either. perhaps the Chargers win in the 06 playoffs??

i mean....HE BURIED THE GAME BALL. this has been a goooooooood week to be a Patriots fan.

after all that hype, hard knocks, big mouth bart scott and the rest of the clown brigade running their yaps about how they "couldn't see" a loss, predictions of the patriots empire demise..... They. Had. To. Bury. The. Game. Ball.

sorry but i'm going to just swim in the good vibes off this until next weekend, and then i'll start going into worry wart mode about the playoffs, etc. right now i am a pig in sh!t. i visit the jets forums every few hours.

you know who i wanna hear from right about now, by the way? LT. where has he been? him and Bart Scott. come on out fellas, hows your week been?

trying not to create too much bad karma here but they got what they had comin to 'em and i can't stop smiling.

Peyton Manning is having a rough stretch, no doubt about it. But anyone that suggests benching him in favor of Curtis Painter is too stupid to breathe.

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking before, in a very warm and fuzzy fashion, sitting down for the 5th time today to go read the Pats boards, the Jets boards, to see what else Santa brought this week.

As the g/f puts it, I'm checking to see if the Pats still won. Yep, they did :D

So glad I'm not on the team, this is far too enjoyable.

On a side note on players and prep - I remember being a bit nervous early last week when Brady was quoted talking about spending a day or two working on Bears tapes before starting on the Jets because of the long (Thanksgiving+Monday) week. I figured the Jets might be thinking of nothing but prepping for "their Super Bowl" while the Pats split their time.

Glad of it now, though of course - IMO we can sometimes struggle with a short week. Certainly we benefit from extra prep time in a noticeable fashion as opposed to the Nyets, and hopefully some of the split time after Thanksgiving will work to help with the short week.

Amen to all that.

Post of the day. And contains actionable info for the average fan.

Thank you for the post of the week...I too am just a fan and will relish this win not only until Sunday, but loooong after. To me, this was one of the best regular season wins in a long time. Those who get paid to play with this odd shaped ball have to be looking forward, not back.

Yes it does get better.......

12. Jet embroiled in a cheating scandal.

A POX on those alleged "fans" who don't know HOW to enjoy a great victory!!

A POX on those alleged "fans" who presume to LECTURE us revelers!!

Like Coach Bill says: One Game At A Time.

And MY preparation for the next one starts on SUNDAY...when I pop the first Cold One!! :D

Such is the REWARD of being a Fan...And we pay WELL for the Privilege...so you can STOW that "Let's forget about this one" spewage!!

One of the very finest posts EVER.

For those who embrace that Philosophy, it is sweet confirmation that there ARE others out there who appreciate and EMBRACE this Gift of LIFE.

For those who do NOT...I pray they will reread that post, and if just ONE Lost Soul feels the light bulb go off, that will be a truly great thing.
