he should bury his fat arse and the team

Re: Rex buries his balls.

Belichick did the same thing in 2001 after a loss to the Dolphins.

"I'm not here to kiss Bill Belichick's rings... I'm here to kiss his arse" :p

Re: Rex buries his balls.

Shameful... How can he say all that junk prior to a game "im gonna kick your ass" attitude, then pull off something like this. If I were his players i'd hit him in the head with the shovel. Last year, pulling off the crying on the podium stunt, now this. hopefully next year he'll slit his belly open and rid himself of all the crap that he is! Now im not saying Coach Belichick is shameful for doing it in 2001, at least he did it for the right reason, not the desperate one!

I have a feeling that this game is in the players' heads and Ryan had to do something. Belichick did it with a team with a lot of young players and a team that hadn't really begun to gel, they needed motivational tools like this back in early 2001. The Jets are mostly a veteran team with a lot of bravado. The only reason I could see Ryan doing something like this is if the Jets players really were shaken by this.

Personally, I can see this game affecting the Jets for a while. Ryan's style works when things are going well, but rings hollow when things go bad. He showed on the sidelines that he is not a good game manager when punched hard in the mouth like the Pats did to him. The Jets players might be questioning themselves a bit and their coaches. The media and fan perception has already gone from the Jets are a good team that have been gutting out close wins to maybe the reason why the Jets had to gut out close wins against some bad teams is because they really aren't much better than those bad teams. That feeling might be ringing through the lockerroom.

As they say though. If you can't beat Belichick, copy his stunts.

Yeah, stealing Belichick's idea should really do the trick and set them straight

While your at it Rex...stick this where the sun doesn't shine.

Here's an idea: Let's go dig it up, clean it off, and make sure it's used next time the Pats play them. Before the game the ball boy can show it to the team captains, "Remember this, guys? Does 45-3 ring a bell?"

Wasn't it Al Groh that buried the ball in 2001?

Hard to beat Jack Del Rio's axe in the lockerroom, and the kicker who wounded himself with it.

Perhaps a more appropriate motivational tool?
