If we were to lose one more game than the jets going forward, we'd be looking deep into the tie-breakers to see if we have a home game in the playoffs.

Don't get me wrong, I expect us to win the division. I've always expected us to win the division. But, the division is by no means a lock, even now.

Agreed. There's a lot of football left to be played. Both the Bears and Packers are going to very difficult games.

You cannot ever takes things for granted in the NFL.

But with basically the same schedules for the last 4 games, I just do not see the Pats losing 1 more than the Jets.

@ CHI , GB, @BUF, MIA for NE

and

MIA, @PIT, @CHI, BUF

I expect the Jets to be 2-2 or worse personally. I cannot imagine them beating PIT, and it wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if they lose the next 3 in a row.

It looks a lot better than it did before last night though

If we go...

3-1 / Jets need to go 4-0 to force tiebreakers
2-2 / Jets need to go 3-1 to force tiebreakers

The Jets ceiling is 3-1, period. And even if they accomplished that the Patriots would have to go 2-2 (not happening) to just force tiebreakers.

Agreed! It seems like everyone is getting too high on this win.Its sweet but they havent accomplish anything yet. They control their seeding. The top seed is still in play. Each game from here on out is a playoff game.Thats how they should treat it.

The Pats can lose one of the next 2 and still be guaranteed of the division and the #1 seed assuming they win the final 2 division games. They hold the head-to-head against the Steelers and the strength of victory against the Jets.

Obviously you want to go into the playoffs on a winning streak and playing well, but last night gave the Pats a huge boost in their run for the Super Bowl. A loss would have likely guaranteed a #5 seed and a wildcard trip to Indy. Oh how that would have sucked!

Hey Pete....your not living up to your name. We might have to start calling your optimistic Pete if you keep this up.

You people SERIOUSLY think there's any realistic possibility that the Patriots finish 2-2 AND (not only one can happen, they both must) the Jets finish 3-1 just to force tiebreakers?

Amazing.

Guess going 4-0 in games vs Colts, @Steelers, @ Lions, vs Jets didn't evoke much confidence.

And that the Jets going 1-3 against winning teams, most recently a 45-3 historical embarrassment has kept you worried.

The steelers have a cupcake schedule. We dont.I might have to root for the jets against the steelers.

This is very true. When all my friends were texting me last night, this is exactly what I told them. We havent done anything yet. The win was awesome but the division can still go either way.

Patriots control their own destiny, before last night they didnt. Last night was a huge win, but it didnt win anything yet. Each of the next 4 games is as equally as important as last night.

The Jets will be lucky to score a point on the Pittsburgh Steelers defense.

How can it go either way? Do you think the Jets will finish 3-1 and the Pats will finish 2-2? Is that what you think is going to happen? Do you really think that's realistic?

We controlled our own destiny before last night. At no point in this season have we ever not controlled our own destiny. Control your own destiny means you can make the play offs by winning all your own games regardless of the outcome of game the team does not play in.

I am confident about winning the division.I wanna have the top seed. All these 4 remaining games are big.
