Leading off with parallels to the Jets 1986 team which was 10-1, lost 45-3 to the Dolphins and didn't win another game all season. It's like when Red Sox fans had to listen to 1918 talk all the time.

That 1986 team did back into the playoffs, however.

Joe is doing a good job trying to mitigate the damage, and he's got a couple valid points. However, there is simply no way to cover up the damage done last night. To their credit, Joe and his crew are admitting what a disaster it was.

I love their comments on Rex and his staff. "What were they thinking?" "Challenge a 4th and 1?" "At THAT spot on the field?"

The problem was- The Jets got blown out, so Beningo is just laid back today about it.
They said at 11:20, they're gonna tell how Evan Roberts got in an altercation with the cops up there. They shoulda arrested him for being a boring ginger who doesn't deserve to be on radio.
I so wanted to stake out the WFAN studio in West Soho this morning and razz Beningo as he strode into work, but they're still up in Boston this morning.

They're trying to bait Jerricho Cotchery into saying the Pats were trying to run up the score. No surprise, I figured somebody would run that angle sooner or later. Of course no mention that the Jets starters were still on the field until the end. Also tried to get him to talk about wanting to play the Pats again, but Cotchery was a pro and just said he was only focused on Miami.

They're on a commercial right now, they teased that next up they are going to talk about the altercation, and Pats fans apparently giving them a hard time.

Talking about it now:

"Patriot fans ... this was the most abuse we ever experienced. The fans were brutal ... from the time we got there, to when we found our car 9 hours later ... the Patriot fans last night were ABUSIVE to us."

Then they mention one of their colleagues had a Jets coat and a Yankees hat on, and was responding with expletives to fans, and practically looking to get into a fight. Real professional.

Now complaining about no elevators and that they had to walk down the stairs, and that a police officer told them to get off the street on Route 1 and get on the sidewalk.

Are they seriously pegging the pats fans for drunk driving? The jets are on the dart board of every card carrying MADD member. They are the poster boys for drunk driving fgs!

even though they are jet fans, their post jet game rants are somewhat knowledgeable. they talk about specific plays ,playcalls etc etc. frankly much better than our WEEI big show guys.
