“As a rookie, he’s probably playing the best in the league at his position, hands down,”

I think I seen only 2 passes completed on him all night, he also had Edwards absolutely blanketed on that INT he had. Helluva player!

I think he overtakes Suh for DROY by the time the season is over.

thatd be incredible.........think about how incredible itd be that this team would have 2 players that won that honor

McCourty is more than advertised or expected, to be playing at the level he is playing at against the competition of this season and to do as well as he has bodes well for this team.

The next Ty Law???

Better than the Great Ty Law, Devin McCourty is faster...no WR can beat him in a foot race.

On that INT -- in week 2, didn't McCourty get completely lost and turned around on a similar pass to Edwards? DMc learned a lot in a short period of time. What a player.

Suh is getting a reputation for being a dirty player. I have no idea if there is any truth to it, but if there is, he may lose votes because of it.

That rep is costing him during the game too. If you saw the Bears/Lions game this weekend, Suh got flagged for putting a forearm in the back of Cutler's head, but the replay clearly showed that it was a clean hit. I think the Refs are watching him closely like Harrison and are flagging anything close.

On the by-and-by, that hit on Culter was awesome. He whacked him like the red-headed step child he is.

that hit was awesome from Suh just shoved him down like he wasn't trying. That being said I think McCourty could pass him and may have passed him for Droy I have a feeling that it might be a Co-Droy situation.

But there is no doubt that BB knows how to draft with a Droy in Mayo (who might be in the running for Dpoy this year) and another one that has a good chance this year in McCourty

I love Suh's nasty streak. I love McCourty's interceptions and ***** slapping of receivers more though.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but for those that haven't seen it, here is Suh's hit on Cutler.

YouTube - Suh's Forearm Punch to Cutler

Awesome.

That being said, McCourty is sooo much better than I was expecting and the crazy thing is that he's doing this with no pass rush in front of him. Holy crap his future looks bright

Screw DROY, pro bowl baby!

When will the racist red-head comments stop?

I was one of the few people prior to the season happy with the McCourty pick. He was a shutdown CB in college and he is well on his way to being a shutdown CB in college. Right now he is the best rookie defender this year other than maybe Suh.

I still don't know how many scouts thought this guy was not going to be anything more than a nickelback and a special teamer. This guy is better than Haden (who is starting to emerge himself) and definitely Wilson.

I was the other guy that loved the pick and fended off the endless supply of chicken littles that cried about Dez Bryant (!!) of all things...

I also was the guy that said McCourty is clearly the DROY over Suh since being a cornerback in the NFL is just a harder transition than pinning your ears back on the DL.

Its always very tough to overcome a very high draft pick who is playing very well for DROY. That being said I think corner is a harder transition than DT. If Suh keeps it up I would expect him to get that award.

One things that McCourty has going for him is exposure.

The Pats have the best record in the league and will be on National TV at least 3 of the last 4 weeks in the season. Suh will have to solely rely on his stats since no one but Lions fans will be watching him play. McCourty will be on peoples' minds when the vote comes around.

He just needs to keep up this level of play and he has a great shot of winning the award.
