Re: Logan Mankins Greatest Patriots Offensive Guard sine John Hannah

I wasn't alive when Hannah played, but I've seen his work and I agree. The Patriots need to sign Mankins to a long term contract yesterday.

Re: Logan Mankins Greatest Patriots Offensive Guard sine John Hannah

Let him go, use the money to get a vet RB, a JAG OL and draft his replacement in the 2nd round and STILL get a 3rd rd comp pick for him. He is good, damn good, but he doesnt change the game. We did pretty well the first 10 games without him dont cha think?

Re: Logan Mankins Greatest Patriots Offensive Guard sine John Hannah

Been saying this since the 2nd year of Mankins career. He seemed to stagnate back in 2007/2008, but he's advanced since then. He was a monster tonight..

Ryan Wendell, on the other hand, got man-handled by the Jets D-line one the rushing plays where Connolly was moved to FB.

I would agree with you if I hadn't observed the change in the collective mentality of the Patriots offensive line since his return. The entire unit is nasty because of Logan Mankins.

Pay the man.

This post is so full of fail. I guess if you're going to fail, fail big. And you have accomplished that, my friend.

Re: Logan Mankins Greatest Patriots Offensive Guard sine John Hannah

I think there is some intangibles that Mankins brings to that offensive line group. He gets into the defenses faces every game. Crumpler had to pull him back against the Jets this past week. ESPN showed a lot of power run plays with Logan always pulling and opening up a hole. He is a special player and is not replaceable by just anybody.

Re: Logan Mankins Greatest Patriots Offensive Guard sine John Hannah

He's such a monster... I agree, resign him. He's just too damn talented and plays extremely hard.

Re: Logan Mankins Greatest Patriots Offensive Guard sine John Hannah

I only saw the last year of Hannah's career, so I have little 'live' basis for comparison, but I am confident in saying Logan Mankins is quite good.

You've been spouting this crap for over a year.

News for you. Mankins has played in 5 games this year. So saying that we did pretty good in the first 10 games is pretty stupid since 3 of those Mankins played in.

The Pats were 6-1 in the first 7 games. They've been 4-1 since Mankins came back. BJGE had 6 TDs in the first 8 games.. He's got 5 in the last 3 games.

The Pats don't need to "use the money to get a vet RB and a JAG OL". The Pats have the money to sign Mankins regardless of whether there is a cap next year.

I really hope they patch their differences up he's a really special player. The guy is everything you want in a OG Big Tough and Nasty! How much do you Guys think he's looking for? I hope they can work out a new Four Year Contract with the man. Mankins have some skills that are just rare in a Guard.

No....

Have you seen the offense since he has returned? Have you seen the run blocking? Have you seen how much time Brady has had? I dont think it is a coincidence all this occurred every since he returned.

was saying this in the gameday thread... The OL is the one veteran strength of this team. Yes you can point out age of koppen and light but i think you keep them together as long as you can... draft a replacement or 2 while we have the picks but i don't think you get rid of light and mankins if you can help it.

Re: Logan Mankins Greatest Patriots Offensive Guard sine John Hannah

Mankins has more than proven his worthiness since he came back and just watch him in slow motion during the snap and look deep into the warrior eyes he shows with such intensity.

Guys like Mankins don't grow on trees

I admit I didn't miss him when he was out but after seeing his eyes and intensity over the past few games there is no doubt we can not lose this guy,he puts fear into defensive ends instead of the opposite.

The Patriots are a good football team this season. You should take the time to watch a game or two.

That wasnt the problem or the question. :bricks: Guards simply dont change games. Its not like he and Light are invincible out there. He is not 400% better than Connolly.

I'd say hes 500% better.

You are right he's not 400% better that Connolly, but he could be 399% better.

The Patriots apparently don't agree with you, since they were, by the owner's claim, willing to pay Mankins a contract in the neighborhood of what Mangold is making.

Seriously, watch a game or two. To make your claim just shows either ignorance or willful silliness.

Re: Logan Mankins Greatest Patriots Offensive Guard sine John Hannah

Can't think of much competition, they've had a lot of scrubs in between. Maybe Neal?Mankins will never have near the impact of Hannah but, we won't have 265 lb guards again, nor will we have as much emphasis on the run. Mankins is our best guard and will be paid what they think a top guard gets, which was pretty good and which he spit on.

Beats me, I don't question the Pats on business, they rarely make misjudgments.
