Boomer Esiason, NFL on CBS on WEEI

He also says Manning is this generation's Marino

I never really watched the CBS Game Day show or heard Boomer talk much, but he seems to carry a fairly bipartisan analysis on the Manning v. Brady debate and the Jets and Pats game. Maybe I should tune in to that show more often...

Ummm...No kidding.

I've been saying that, Ver Batim, for about 10 YEARS...as have others.

It is VERY refreshing for someone on TV, though, to have the Vision AND the Integrity ~ and the Testicular Fortitude ~ to say that, aloud.

EXCELLENT find, sir.

Wow. Did he make that up? All by himself?

Oh dear. What a look Marino gives Esiason.

Hahahahahahaha that was hilarious.

I'm not saying that Esiason somehow said this brilliant thing that no one ever else fathomed, just that in my small exposure to NFL analysts - everyone seems to think that Peyton is light years ahead of anyone to ever play the position.

Either your hearing, your vision, or both, are in bad need of an upgrade.

?

Everyone meaning NFL analysts on ESPN, NFLN, and other networks for the most part seem to believe that Manning is a better QB than Brady. The point I was making was that Esiason is the only analyst I have heard that defiantly and explicitly complimented Brady in such a fashion as have him surpass Manning.

If you're implying that many other analysts seem to believe that Brady is a better QB, I must be tuning in to the wrong networks (plus I rarely watch those shows anyways).

If you're confusing what I meant by "everyone", that is understandable and I would be clearly at fault for being vague.

Bah!!

I just listened ~ sort of ~ to 17:00 of that, before it came to that part, only to hear Boomer say those words...and THEN describe Brady as being "in the perfect system for'm" and Manning as some kind of VICTIM OF CIRCUMSTANCE. Good GOD.

I keep forgetting...

SOME people think that Marino was in Montana's class, as well.

Esiason's been making the same comparison for a long time. The best part was when he made the comparison, before Manning won his SB, with Marino in the room. That was an uncomfortable silence.

Yeah, how could Esiason say such a foolish thing. Manning is leaps and bounds better than Marino.

No doubt in my mind, I would take Marino over Manning.

If Marino had Harrison, Wayne and Clark, he would have killed it. Never forget that Marino's top WR was a Deion Branch clone, Mark Clayton.

Funny I was thinking about Brady vs Montana last night.

I always cosidered Montana to be the best QB I have ever watched play, but I think we can now legitimately start talking about Tom in the same breath as Joe. Brady just continues to amaze.

As to Manning, although not a Dolphins fan, I admired Marino for his ability and guts. As mentioned, with a better team around him (like Manning has had), Dan would have probably won a few rings.
