It is game day! What are your game day rituals? I know some of you guys are superstitious about sports, so what things do you do in preparation for the game?

I'm not very superstitious but every day before the Patriots play I clean the whole house and have everything looking organized. I also wear my Randy Moss Jersey before the game but not during. During the game I always wear my favorite T-shirt and shorts. It has worked so far.:D

Your husband is a lucky guy!;)

One of my gameday rituals is to drink my morning coffee out of my Pats mug. I've gotta head out to work later this morning and will be home literally minutes before kickoff. I wonder if my boss will let me wear my Brady jersey over my shirt and tie?

Welker jersey. The Pats are 0-2.5 (Lions first half) when I am wearing a Brady jersey/shirt. They are 10-0 when I wear the Welker jersey. Coincidence? I think not :D

Religoiusly wear my "University of Belichick" T-shirt.. cannot find any more, so it is getting a tad threadbare...

I wear my Patriots polo shirt and a beat-up Patriots cap all day.

I just say we are going to win and believe it. ;)

Don't really have any superstitions when I watch at home, but when I go to the game, as is the case tonight, I have several hangups. First, and I have no idea why I do this but they've been successful in the 19 years I had season tix, is I never wear anything "Patriots" as my outermost layer of clothing - yes, f#cking weird. No Pats jackets, Pats sweatshirts when it's warmer out - nothing. I actually try not to wear Pats stuff on game day at Gillette.
Second, when I'm in my seat, I must always check to see if my wallet is still in my right pocket before every third down on defense...must be a nerves/habitual thing.
Third I must clean my glasses before the start of every offensive possession....

FIRST socks THEN shoes...

I do this without fail and for the most part, things have gone pretty well for the Pats since I've started following this superstition

I wear my Patriots t-shirt, and if I know I won't be able to watch the game all the way through (or has to stop watching mid-game) I don't watch any of it!

The two games I have started watching but not watched until final whistle is Jets and Browns!

Yes..... but they are secret rituals and will lose their mojo if I reveal them to the uninitiated.

I spend the game turning beer into urine.

Might not be as impressive as turning water into wine, but you have to starts somewhere. I hope to work myself up to the water to wine trick, but so far all I have accomplished is beer into urine.

Mine is always putting things in context.

I am jonsing for the game simply because I can't wait to watch my team, not because this is the SB, cause it ain't.

I try to emphasize the strengths of the other teams and the weaknesses of ours and that is a realistic reason as to why we may lose.

For instance in this game, the Jets have great corners, a good defense, that weasel Sanchize seems to be pulling games out of his ass, they are a lucky team (however how long will their luck last?), our defense can't seem to get off the field some drives, our kicker is not Ghost, which in close games from here on out may become an issue..and well our offense, I can't even think of anything bad to say about them...:)

Not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic I guess.

In a weird sort of way I expect the worse and hope for the best...

I pretty much don't eat anything until the game is over (no matter how late the game is). I don't switch the channel, no phone calls, no drinks, nothing.. :)
I just don't get up once i sit to watch the game. has worked for 16-0 in 2007 and worked so far this season. Let's see what happens tonight ! :)

Remind girlfriend to wear her Patriots sweatshirt, she got it this season and they're 9-0 when she wears it. Yes, she forgot to wear it versus Jets and Browns. I also build as much good Karma during the day as possible, buy my friends a beer before the game or lunch- something like that.

I always wear a jersey to watch the game. If the pats are on a winning streak I don't wash it and wear the same one until they lose. My Seymour jersey got pretty rank during 07.

I have to agree with the eating part. I can't tell you how many times we've ordered pizza, wings or whatnot and my girlfriend is always complaining because she's eating by herself. I can't eat at all because I'm so tuned into the game. I dont even feel my hunger pains until the game is over.

But yes, phones off tonite. if we have a bad drive I don't feel like getting text messages from everybody i know asking me whats going on with my team..urrgghh

On a late night like this I stay home. The lady and the baby will be in the bedroom. I'll be watching in the livingroom. Eat healthy every day except patriot game days where I pig out. Making homemade chicken fingers with franks sweet chili sauce and buffalo sauce. Sometimes wings sometimes pizza. Usually have whiskey on the rocks... I scream at the tv, pace around the house, and constantly have my iPhone in hand testing friends with comments or making crazy statements in the gameday thread. If the baby doesn't wake up from me swearing it usually means good for the pats.

Pretty much the same for me except the wife and kid, whiskey, and I always keep my phone off during games...and always have a Pats jersey as the top layer of clothing.

Okay.... every game day I wear the same clothes: Gray sweat pants, zip-front hoodie, socks, and a gray NEP T-shirt. The only time I change anything for a game is if the Patriots are wearing throwbacks. THEN I wear a red NEP T-shirt.

The rest is still secret because the mojo seems to be working.
