I'm curious about traditions I should know about at my first Gillette game.

For instance, is there something everyone shouts when the Pats get a first down, for instance? Any other local traditions I should know about?

For instance, when the Jets get a first down, should I throw a Jets fan out of the stadium for good luck?

One thing... It wont be as cold as you think. Everyone I'm sure has told you "you're gonna be so cold" Thats really not the case. If you layer up, have some beers, and enjoy the excitement, you don't really think about the cold until the walk from the stadium back to your car.

I went to the ravens playoff game last year. Highs in the mid 20s, and I was sweating on the walk over.

Make noise on Jets 1st down.
Make more noise on Jets 2nd down.
Make even more noise on Jets 3rd down.

Be silent on Pats 3rd down.

:)

You'll be prompted when to yell after a first down. Feel free to toss any Jesst fan in your area.

Be loud whenever the Jets are on the field and yell for FIRST DOWN

Cant wait!!

On first down you yell "First Down!" You'll get the gist.

Be loud and have fun!!

Unless you are in the fancy lower level seats where they actually have enough bathrooms I would not drink too much beer. In the cheap seats you will miss a good part of the game if you have to pee. The lines are awful. I have only 1 before the game.

They play the Cheers theme song and everyone sings along.

This year they have started to play a foghorn sound when they want the fans to get loud. It's the same noise they make at B's games when they score a goal. They also have these video clips they play on the scoreboard of Pats players telling you to make noise.

Traffic is going to suck tomorrow night with people leaving work and normal game traffic.

And if you're sitting up top, I'd highly suggest bringing warm clothes. It's supposed to be in the low 30s with 30 MPH winds.

Oh, the testimonials are awesome.

"just wanted to tell you thank you for offering a product that is capable of so many wonderful things. My name is Steven and I am a driver for United Parcel Service...Now that I have my stadium pal there is no more delay or inconvenience for constantly stopping to use the bathroom. It was a little unusual getting used to, but now I find myself urinating right during delivering packages or conversating with people. What people don't know won't bother them!!!!!!! I am always on time and no more bathroom worry. Thank you Stadium Pal.........

Probably not the kind of advice you're looking for but, I'd wear 2 pairs of socks and a warm hat.
With my

hat I could stay in sub zero celsius temps all day.

PLEASE make sure you bend your knee's when attempting to throw...:D

And what a great Secret Santa gift!!

Could be.

Actually one year for her b-day I got my gf a gag gift of a Female Urine Director (basically a funnel that lets chick pee standing up like a guy). Her b-day is April 1 so gag gifts are a tradition her parents started when she was 7. I also got her some very expensive earrings for the real gift. She LOVED the FUD. She even wrote our initials in a heart in the snow. The earrings got returned to the store.

Instead of not drinking, just hit the bathroom BEFORE you go up to your seats. Fewer lines before the game. The announcer yells, "And that play is good for another Patriots'..." and everyone yells, "FIRST DOWN!" and makes the signal toward the appropriate end zone. Make sure you high five everyone around you upon a score and they play "This Is Our House" by Bon Jovi after a TD, so sing loud!

Have a great time. I am not going as I gave my tickets away at the beginning of the year before it became apparent how important this game is. :(

This too. The only thing that ever gets cold on me is my feet. Toasty Toes in the boots and ski socks work well!!

Last time I went to a game I had to piss and get a beer... Missed a quarter in a half. At least their were 20 empty ladies rooms.

Awesome tips. I'm from New Hampshire, so am an expert layer-er. I'm in the upper upper deck (row 26 of section 308) so will definitely need to keep my face/ears warm.

I'd like to wear a buncha layers under my Welker jersey, but will likely end up wearing my winter jacket in addition to the layers. As I get older, I choose comfort over cool. :O

Definitely be as loud as you can these guys aren't kidding. Make as much noise as you possibly can when the Jets have the ball and after we score.
