This is the week, folks.

He's healthy. BB has had plenty of time to gameplan this. He is waaaaayyyy under the radar.

He was hurt in the last Jets game. Not now.

The two games last season against the Rex Ryan Defense, he had 11 receptions for 124 yards (the second Jets game last year was his second game back from the miraculously quick broken arm convalescence).

Leonhard is out and they are going to really key on Welker and Hernandez. I'd love to see BB unleash the supermarket pastry baker tomorrow night.

Maybe. I'm a big Edelman fan, but with this year's multiple TE formations, as long as Welker is healthy in the slot, I think Edelman's primary contributions will be at PR.

Edelman, Welker, Woodhead each get a TD to lead NE to victory...this is the week of the short white guys!

Which is the beauty of this. THAT is exactly what the Jets are probably expecting.

Remember, their smartest play caller in the secondary is out now and the middle of the field is affected. Let's see straight-line Revis (who owned straight-line Moss) and the rest try to contend with Welker, Branch and Edelman at the same time.

Many are talking about the importance of contributions in this game from Tate, but I think (match-up wise) Edelman would be a great call here.

Edelman is a great player, I really hope he has a great game before the season ends. He has been quiet.

That would be great but I still think they're going to run the ball more.

It would be great for Edelman to have his breakout game tomorrow. He looked healthier than ever last week during that punt return.

Wait, the Pats are on today?! Sick!;)

I still find it hard to believe that Edelperson hasn't thrown a pass yet. If the Jets are as disheartened at safety as everyone is saying, maybe this is the game. Play-action, toss to Edelperson on a reverse and throw downfield to an uncovered Hernandez. Make it so.

And it will be a cold day in Boston tomorrow or something like that.;)

Might be smart to draw up a few plays for him, but let's be real--he's taken about three steps back this year. Right now all he is is depth in the offense.

Then again, BB can't be overjoyed with Tate and he might be ready for a diminished role.

Julian had a huge game last season against the Jets in Welker's place, with 8 catches for 98 yards so he could do some damage if given the opportunity.

I'm not sure that whatever was bothering Edelman in week 2 isn't still lingering in some way. He's not been the same as a returner or a reciever this year aside from a couple decent PR's.

What? You mean we can't have 12 players on the field?

Apparently some would rather have Edelman on the field than Hernandez, Gronk, Branch or Welker. Some would even have Edelman passing instead of Brady.

The reality is that Edelman is a backup slot back. He is not even competing for the 3rd receiver spot. Hernandez has that role.

So, the question is whether you would use Edelman instead of Tate as a wideout 2-5 times a game? I wouldn't.

I certaqinly would seat Welker or Henrendez to play Edelman.

It is NOT a bad thing to have depth. Edelman showed last year that he canstep in and play reasonably well if one of the others is injured. That is his present role in addition to being a punt returner.

It has nothing to do with Hernandez, Gronk, Branch or Welker.

It has everything to do with Tate. Nothing against Tate, but his style of pass route is the Jets secondary's strength - - the Moss/Brandon Marshall- go route -shutdown corners.

They drafted Kyle Wilson expressly to be the slot shutdown, and he has failed. Leonhard is out now. That area looks to be a huge weakness. The Brandon Tate go route is ably covered by Revis/Cromartie - - why not hit them in their weak area?

Putting another jitterbug out there for an additional 5-8 snaps instead of Tate makes some good sense to me. Stubbornly keeping Tate out there all game against that secondary seems like stubbornly banging your head against the wall.

It could be the fact he has doped the pass 2 times this season in scoring positions (one was understandable... ray lewis hammered him) but it's the same with hernandez and tate... brady doesn't like throwing to people who drop his passes... Gronk was open earlier in the year but only now he have the runs on the board with brady to go out and look for him as a target consistantly

Edelman doesnt even get more than 15 plays on offense. I dont think he will play a major role tomorrow night. A offensive player to go under the radar and make an impact would be Tate I think. He needs a have a solid game tomorrow night with most of the Jets attention going to Branch, Welker and Hernandez

I agree; using Tate to run Moss' old routes is about as bad an idea for this game as I can think of.

That said, using Tate on the routes that, say, GRONK and Hernandez run might be a great thing.
