Do i hate the jets?

not as much as i hate their D-bag fans, you know, the type who has a sense of entitlement even through their team has barely been relevant until just recently.

i was reading some dolphins forums the other day and they were all talking about how much more annoyed they were with jets fans than they were with patriots fans because the jets have barely accomplished more than the dolphins have yet talk as if they win the Superbowl every year.

As for the the jets themselves? well its pretty hard to hate rex ryan, hes a pretty funny guy and he is just trying to coach a football team, guys like Whiny ***** LT and Megatool Bart Scott kind of annoy me for sure.

The Jets and their fans get off on being hated. When your team has been so bad on and off for so long you can't be surprised when they have a great team that they will talk about it a lot. Being hated means your relevant. No one hates the lions.
Also a lot of Jets fans are Mets fans so all our energy goes into the Jets lol.

But they have won nothing since before the merger of the NFL and AFL in 1970. They have not even been bridesmaids. They have been a joke.

Even Jets fans have a name for them "SOJ". And, they still have won nothing unless you count all the pre-season championships.

Yet, people still hate the team.

*now do not retort with the tired and totally lame and unfounded "cheating" thingy

Nobody hated them until Rex came. Hes making our team meaningful again. You whine like a hurt x girlfriend.

I can only speak for myself and the elevety zillion others who hated them before Rex. We just hate them more since Rex showed up.

I hated them before I hit puberty.

I hated the Jets since Mark Gastineu.

I also hated them after they signed Tony Eason (who I loved at the time) and after his first day, Eason said, "This offensive playbook is twice the size of what we ever had in New England."

I hated them when the Parcells thing went down.

I hated them when they took Curtis Martin.

I hated them when they embarrassed the Pete Carrol era Pats, repeatedly.

I hated them with Noodle Arm Pennington

I hate them with Noodle Arm Sanchez and Fat Rex and the other Thugs they have.

YES with every atom of my being!!!!!!!!!!

The Jests can go F*UCK THEM SELFS

Anyone who hates the Jets is a "Drama Queen". The Jets have historically done nothing to the Pats. It's the bloody Dolphins that are to be hated!!!!! The Jets and Bills are the red headed step children to the Pats!!!!!!! (no offense to all the red headed step children out there. Unless you are Dolphin fans.)

I dont have the Jets as much as i hate their fans....only winning 1 SB and 4 div champs in dam 50 years...you think they wouldnt be that bad...nope.still a bunch of idiots

I'm not a psychologist, but I'd imagine that the kid that drew that should probably have his head examined. Sounds like he's got some major psychological issues.

Looks like Cromartie's handiwork.

Hate the Jests with a passion.

Hate all NY sports teams, as a matter of fact. And principle. :p

Love the city itself...it's fun to visit with endless stuff to do. Most New Yorkers are not as bad as their reputation...most I've met are actually kind and helpful and friendly. I'm assuming almost all of this ilk are not Jets fans. :D

But I'll always hate their sports teams, starting with the Yanks and Jets at the top!

I hate Jets fans far more then the actual team. I don't respect them enough to truly warrant hatred

First, a confession. I rooted for the Jets once. It was my birthday and I rooted for the AFL team to beat the heavily favored NFL Colts. Namath did. Then the Chiefs won the next 2 after the merger.

Anyhow my hatred started with Namath's 1st pre season game ever against the Patriots in Lowell stadium. He killed us. Through the 60s and 70s the Jets would manage to squash Patriots playoff hopes at season's end. This disdain for the Jets was eclipsed by Ben Dreith's excerable RTP call that cost us the Oakland game. OAK went on to win the SB. That plus Stingley made me hate the Raiduz for decades until that exorcism in the snow at old 'Sullivan' stadium.

Jets hatred was easily rekindled during the Border Wars by two events. First, perfidious Parcells forsaking us just before the Pack SB for the Jets. Anyone who looked at The Tuner's thousand yard stare as he emerged from the tunnel onto the field knew his mind was elsewhere and our once in a decade opportunity for a Lombardi was forever lost in the anals (sic) of history. Then the bastid signed Curtis Martin away from us. Worse yet his Jets would beat Pete the Poodle's Pats viciously.

Yeah, unlike the newbies who can't relate because they only remember the Patriots' glory decade or maybe even the False Dawn of the Bledsoe era, Jets hatred goes WAY back. I really truly hate the Jets. But what's best, the players who epitomize what's good about Patriots culture like Steve Nelson and now Tom Brady really hate this puke team just as much as I do.

To address the OP. My hatred of the Jets was always secondary to my hate of the Dolphins, since I grew up in an era when the Dolphins had Marino and all that. My hatred of the Jets had its dawn with the Parcells/Martin stuff. It's just gotten worse and worse since then. Their generally moronic fanbase doesn't help matters.

This year some people have jumped on the bandwagon because of Rex Ryan/hardknocks/winning but I'd reckon 50+% of the patriots fanbase are bandwagon fans.

This is probably true. The question will be how many will stick around when the Pats begin to suck again. The Steelers, Cowboys, and Raiders have fans all around the country because there were bandwagon jumpers in the 1970s too. A lot of them stuck around, some went on to new teams, and some quit watching football. We'll have to see.

I don't mind loyal fans. The Bills have loyal fans. I have a feeling that if the Bills contend again, they won't be as dumb about it as the Jets fans have been.

I rooted for the Jest in that SB too. I was just back from the Army, didn't even know what a SB was.

I was young and foolish and wanted to experiment. I've grown up since then and my dislike for the Jets has grown each year.

This conversation makes me feel so dirty

My option's not available. Being from outside the NE region, I saw the Jets as just another divisional rival until the Parcells departure circus. My hatred grew in fits and starts from there, the biggest jump being when Martin switched teams. That just tore my heart right out (but also mostly cured me of any potential future "favorite player" attachments).

Hate them now after just holding them in contempt.

That team just has so many unlikable personalities, how can you not?
