I can't believe he got it over McCourty. The guy hasn't started a game yet. He has three games in a row that he has gotten an INT, but he had as many as McCourty had in November. Haden has 8 less tackles and 2 more pass defenses.

Haden has been pretty good as a rookie, but McCourty shut down Megatron when he was on him. McCourty has been playing every down except one since day one. McCourty is taking on other teams' primary WRs far more than Haden. I think McCourty was jobbed. Not taking anything away from Haden, but McCourty is just better at this point. If Haden was playing as well as McCourty, he would be starting.

For that matter, I think Brady deserved the AFC offensive player of the month more than Matt Cassel too. But you can make a strong argument for Cassel over Brady.

But Matt Cassel is a scrub QB that only succeeded in the NFL because of the Patriots' system, just like Tom Brady!!! How can that guy be AFC player of the month????!!!

He has been playing great. I doubted the guy, but he proved everyone wrong. Granted since Weis runs a pretty similiar system as what the Pats ran in 2008, you can still make "he's a system QB" argument. He sucked last year.

Lmao, yeh Cassel sucksss... :p
I see what you are saying, Cassel is playing better than that QB in Indy.

I don't know, this year alot of Pats players are not getting proper respect, like Chung not getting the Special Teams player of the week for that performance against the Fish.

Chung not getting it over a kicker who made one field goal (even if it was a game winner) was the biggest joke of the year. McCourty's snub was bad, but not that bad.

Or Gronk losing to Tebow a couple weeks ago...

Isn't most if not all of this voting done online? It's a popularity contest. Tebow would win the Defensive Rookie of the month if he made a tackle on a fumble/INT.

Yeah that one was terrible, but i wasn't surprised since it was Tebow after all. He gets as much love as Peyton without having done anything in the NFL.

That's a good question. I know the Rookie of the Week is determined by online voting. Do they simply look for which of those winners got the most votes?

NFL.com - Rookie of the Week

Since this is done by voting then it's not surprising that Patriot players do not win these awards. It's a case of one fan base voting for a Patriot and 31 fan bases voting against anything to do with the Pats.

you said McCourty like 8 times in that post

The awards are almost laughable! I am surprised Brady actually won the OPPTW award!

Why should anyone here give a rat's patoot about anything achievement-wise other than Lombardis?
